I just spent $170 in under 5 minutes.

    - Ordered my wedding party gifts: $140 - engraved cuff links!
    - Ordered Baptismal certificate so I can get married in the church: $30! - didn't see that one coming. apparently since i was born in a military chapel, everything goes through the military archdiocese.

i'll have to write about all the wedding expenses one day.

You should put a wedding day countdown on your blog so we know when it is :-)

I'm not Christian, so sorry if this question is an obvious one. Why do you need a baptism certificate? You can't marry in a church if you haven't been baptised?

Is this a church by church thing?

I am looking to get married next year and am not baptised, but we want to get married in my SO's church... I didn't think it would be an issue, do you think it might be?

    Thanks.

I would love if you would post about your wedding expenses. I'm not really near that point yet, but I wonder how it is even possible to get married on a budget in my hometown. I think there must be costs I'm not even considering.

hi guys! yeah, i'm actually conjuring up a wedding post here shortly :) there was a lot of stuff i had NO idea about, so i'll def. share all! and good thinking on the wedding countdown, i shall def. do that.

asgreen - i've never been tagged before, woohoo!!! i'm checking out your post in a few.

L - from what i've been told (and researched), as long as 1 person has been baptized in a Christian faith, a couple can marry in a Christian church. The sacramental part may vary (esp. if your SO's Catholic), but either way you should be good go as long as he's baptized.

it's all based on religion, not so much the actual church, so it's best to contact your SO's church for more info.

there's a slew of other things that need to be done like "engaged encounters" the the sort, but that all depends on your/his religion :)

if your SO is Catholic, check out this site for more info. hope all this helps!
