You're walking down the street & find $20. What do you do?

Has this ever happened to you? I once found an $82 chunk outside of my car in a parking lot. I was scared someone was watching me, or pranking me, but not a soul was around so i shoved it in my pocket and sped away. i survived ;)

Now, for some reason, I feel it's about to happen again. Only this time on the crowded streets. I can't really justify this feeling, unless count my ESPN (haha), but it's always interesting to think about. If you found it in the middle the street, would you even *try* to find it's owner?

That's a good question. I'm not sure what I would do, I would like to think that I would try to find its owner, but probably not.

I found a $20 bill on the floor in a grocery store a couple years ago. I half-heartedly asked, "Did anyone drop 20 dollars?" in that area, but no one answered, so I picked it up. BEER MONEY!!

I think with cash it's a case of "Finders, Keepers, Losers, Weepers."

I know exactly what I would do! I would eat sushi with $10 and other $10 I would donate! Simple, right?

$20? I'd keep it, it's not worth trying to find the owner of $20.

One time, I found a credit card in a parking lot. I called the card company to cancel it and the customer service lady seemed super-annoyed. And here I thought I was doing something nice!

I have found a lot of money over the years. I actually keep track of it because I will bend down to pick up a penny. So far this year I have found $116.58. $60 of that was a bag of quarters. In 2007 I found $117.89, so this year is definitely picking up-ha ha!! Couldn't help it, that one was too easy! :)

This happened to me just about 3 weeks ago... I was walking down the sidewalk and I spotted a folded up bill - I nonchalantly reached down and picked it up, not losing a step. As i continued walking I unfolded what was a $20 bill. There was two guys walking ahead of me about to cross the street. I quickly analyzed that it probably was not theres (just a hunch) and put it in my pocket. Guilty conscious? Not really.

looks like we'd all keep that bad boy! and btw, Nicole - that is $hitty eh?! Customer service reps suck sometimes.

And Change - i TOTALLY remember you blogging about that bag of change now! haha...so random!

Carrie/Tom - i snuck out of the office today for a "walk", except i went to a bar and "walked" some beer down my throat. i also played skeetball and wasted $4.00. SEXY TIME!

I've never found $20, but I've seen smaller bills and kept them. I do a bit of asking/looking around and if no one seems to be missing any money, I keep it.

I've been on the other end though, lost a $20 bill once to pay for some stuff I'd bought. I probably spent an hour retracing my steps but couldn't find it... that sucked!

I found $200 in a Walmart parking lot several years ago. I thought they were $1 and picked them up. I sat in the parking lot trying to figure out what I was supposed to do, called my then boyfriend to ask his opinion.
In the end, we couldn't figure out a way to reliably get it to it's owner. So I kept it and it covered a bill.
The crazy thing was, when I picked up that money, a family that was walking next to me picked up some too.. about another $500. Thats a lot of $100 bills to carry around and then lose!
