Would you Politically, and Publicly, sell out for $10,000?

would you rather...This one may be my favorite yet. It's not exactly a "would you rather" question, but it should definitely do the trick. You know why? Because it involves politics.....AND money. Both of which coule rile you up in a heartbeat ;)

And what fun would this world be without testing your limits? So while the elections are still in the rear view mirror and nobody's tired of it yet (HAH!), here's this month's question:
"Would you, for $10,000 in cash - publicly announce to the world on national t.v. that you strongly support, AND admire, the opposite candidate you actually voted for?"
Oooooh, good one right :) I'd imagine those who aren't that passionate about it wouldn'g care all that much and would gladly take the money, but what about those hardcore supporters? I mean, $10G's is a lot of loot! Do you think your family, friends, and co-workers (or even your blog readers) would really CARE that much about your ideals?

For me? I'd take the money and run! haha...i'd sellout in a heartbeat. Hell yeah I think Obama is the man and proudly voted for him, but McCain is a decent human being and i wouldn't mind taking $hit for saying so for a few weeks. People (aka those who know who i am) will forget in no time, and the rest of the world could care less...it's not like i'm Perez Hilton. yet.

What about you all? Would you pocket that money and get out of dodge? It's an interesting question either way - it's just too bad it'll never come true ;)

I wouldn't take it. I think I would feel like I was betraying myself. Though 10,000 is a lot of money.

Hmmm... knowing my luck, I'll take the $10k and karma will smite me mercilessly in the form of a sadistic IRS audit, a subsequent tax evasion trial and finally, a criminal conviction. So I guess my answer is, "no."

In this election, I totally would. I think that both Obama and McCain are respectable guys, and honestly, being from the midwest, I've got close friends on both sides of the fence, so no one would be surprised to hear I voted either way.

Well, if you publicly supported McCain and started getting slack for it, you could just do what his actual supporters did and just spout non-sense about terrorism and middle names.

Will that be cash or check? You know I'll take that $$$.

haha, you guys are pretty funny...i'm actually surprised, i thought it would be a blowout FOR taking it! 3-2-1 is pretty close. (that 1 is for Alex's comment there - not sure where jabs fall ;) )

Nope, I wouldn't feel right about it. Now, if I did really like both guys and picked one over the other for some little, minor reason and me supporting the candidate I *didn't* vote for wasn't opposite of what I actually felt about the person, then I might. But if I don't like the person and didn't vote for 'em, no way would I get up there and say I did support him (or her).

I would. And feel strongly about one candidate over the other. But heck, $10,000 for doing basically nothing is pretty good. I guess they way I see it is that no one really cares what I think of the candidates. It's not like I would sway the election.

Yep, I'd do it in a heartbeat. If I didn't have to actually vote for that person and only say I did. Sounds like a quick and easy $10k to me.

I couldn't support Obama during the election, however-- he is my President now, and I support him being in office now. I couldn't turn my back on the reasons I voted, no matter the money involved.

Okay, I have to pipe in. I voted for Obama, I do believe he will bring good things to our country. HOWEVER, until McCain chose Palin as his running mate, I was planning on voting for him. I think McCain is an amazing man, gracious and someone I would be proud to have as a leader (mostly). I especially respect him for his service to our country. So.... I would Happily stand up in public support of McCain and his campaign despite the fact that I did not vote for him. If it required outspoken support (or even implied, really) for Palin, though, THE DEAL'S OFF. :)

yep - especially since I never really talked outside about whom I was voting for - I voted Obama, but did appreciate much of what McCain was saying...

I'm pretty opinionated. But for $10,000 I could cheerfully lie and suppress my gag reflex for awhile.

I'm a complete sell out. I'd probably do it for $1,000, or maybe even $100. No one's gonna give me any heat for supporting Obama anyway, right? Definitely not the media. ;)

No, I wouldn't do it. Now, it's been said that everyone has their price so I'm not sure if my mind would change with more zeros. Well, I'm almost certain it wouldn't change but I could see myself trying to justify the action if more money was involved... "hmmm, I could publicly support candidate M, get the money, and donate some of it to candidate O's campaign." ;-).
