Guess What??? We did it! We finally got our wedding pictures!
Yessir! Mr. D-head made contact within 48 hours of our blog launch ;)How interesting, huh? It turns out people respond a lot faster when you market their name all over the internet ;) And it's a good thing too as we were slowly running out of options!
But our hard work paid off, and it's one less thing to worry about now. In fact, i might even miss all this drama! haha ... nahhhh, scratch that. For all enquiring minds, here are a few fun facts about the anti-blog...who woulda thunk it?:
- Within 2 days we receive 300+ hits!
- Dozens of comments and emails fly all over Facebook & Myspace.
- An old friend offers his skills to get d-head's name to the top of Google! (we decline, but keep this card in our pocket just in case)
- A DIFFERENT photographer offers to do a whole shoot of the Mrs. in her wedding dress for FREE!!! She hates when people give their industry a bad rap.
- Angry clients come out of the woodwork for this guy, and post their own reviews!
- Within 48 hours we receive the pics online, and a week & a half later the physical images.
And you know I have to give you all guys mad love too! Your support and encouragement kept us sane throughout the whole thing, and we thoroughly enjoyed reading all of the comments...esp. the not-so-PC ones ;) It was definitely therapeutic using this blog to bitch, so THANK YOU times a million!
And just for $hits and giggles, i figured i'd post a recap of everything that's transpired. On last crazy story to wrap things up! Here it is, from start to finish:
- Feb 6 - We sign contract and PRE-PAY for all photography.
- May 31 - We get married!
- Jul 15 - Day our printed proofs are due, per contract.
- Jul 30 - Day our online previews are due, per contract.
- Aug 6 - We check on status. D-head says ready in 1 week.
- Sep 1 - We check on status. D-head says he'll call in 1 week.
- Sep 18 - D-head starts using our photos to advertise his company!
- Sep 22 - We check on status. D-head schedules time to meet.
- Sep 28 - D-head fails to show up at our house.
- Sep 30 - D-head says our proofs were repossessed with his car.
- Oct 9 - D-head says pics coming soon...moves across the country.
- Oct 12 - D-Head comes up with even MORE excuses...
- Oct 17 - We file a B.B.B Complaint.
- Nov 5 - D-head tells us to just "stop calling".
- Nov 6 - We threaten to take him to court.
- Nov 19 - We launch blog and market the hell out of it!
- Nov 21 - Pictures are uploaded online!!!
- Dec 3 - Pictures are securely in our hands :)

Hooray!!! Glad to hear that you got your photos and this worked so well for you. I hope i never have to use it, but this is good to know in case I ever run into something similar.
FANTASTIC! That is SO awesome, J. Money! Seriously, I'm glad that you got your pictures finally. What a jerk, and he deserves to have the truth told about him online since he will likely do the same thing to other unsuspecting couples.

Yippee!! So, do you know if D-head found out about the site? I don't understand, if he had the pictures available within 48 hours of the blog launch, why in the world could he not produce them earlier. Gee whiz! Again, I'm congrats and I'm happy that your perseverance paid off.

About d*mn time! Sad that you had to wait 6 months, but I'm glad you finally got them. I hope they are as awesome as you hoped!
HOOORAY!!!! Time to go to happy hour! haha....nah, i wish...feeling a bit sick lately so have to stay low so that i'm well for an Xmas party tomorrow :)
But yes, today is a good day my friends! And you're right, why the hell would he NOT have done so earlier??? Seriously, i am at a loss. And the funniest/awesomest part about it now is that he's been riding my a$$ the last 2 days to take down the site...he's lucky i stay true to my word though (unlike somebody *cough* *cough*), so it has since came down.
Soon after we emailed him ABOUT the site, he even emailed all his friends/clients to post up positive reviews all over the place in an effort to keep ours lower on the review sites! hahah...one of his clients has actually been an informant for us giving us all the dirt! I can't even tell you how much he makes me wanna vomit...F-Face.
And you know what else? He had the nerve to ask us to re-write our reviews? Excuse me?? How about you apologize first and say you're sorry (which he has yet to do). it's not like he did us any favors here by actually following THROUGH with this past due contract. but i'm not bitter.... ;)
Okay, so i'm gonna post this now as it's turning into a novel! THANK YOU all for the kind words and encouragement, and remember to ALWAYS stand up for yourselves!!! And if you need some help, just holler at your boy J. Money and he'll hook you up!

Boy, it's been a few days since getting them and i'm *still* on a freakin' high! It just blows my mind that the whole blog thing worked :) and you better BELIEVE i'll be using this tactic again down the road shall something happen again! shoooooooot....
To answer some of your questions - YUP, 'tis i (hair and all) in the pic ;) and YUP the pictures came out spectacular! we missed a few that we wanted to take from all the hustle and bustle, but the prints themselves came out swimmingly...esp. a set we took w/ a few of us mo-hawk'ers! aww yeahhhh..
And lastly, "$%$@%$& was he waiting for?" Oh, well that's easy - nothing. he's just a jack a$$. but you'll be happy to hear that 2 other people that used him are now getting their pictures too!!! It's a beautiful time of the year my friends :)
wow...I'm getting married in the summer and I cannot even imagine if I had to go through with all of that. Glad it worked out in the end, but wow...the nerve some people have.

Man, what a crazy story. I'm glad that it all worked out for you, and I'll be tucking this idea away for future use, if necessary. And if I have any friends in the area getting married anytime soon, I'll be asking you for this guy's name so we can avoid him. I'm glad you got your pictures, but it is sad that his bad deeds will remain undisclosed. It would be nice to help make sure no one else goes through what you did.
We have been contemplating something similar for a situation in our industry, but haven't put it into place.
yeah i know :( i'd love to keep it up then then i'd be just as bad as him unfortunately. we have, however, kept all of our reviews up in tact and posted the urls there (even though they don't work) so that people can see the extent we had to go for it all.
Soooo, whoever's searching around should at least see those :)
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I always tell my friends that if anyone crosses me or screws me over, this is exactly how I would handle it. Of course, like you I would only stick to the facts. But I would name names, add details, etc.
Sadly enough, 2 MORE people contacted me saying they TOO got screwed over by him - and one from 2005!!! can you believe that ish? i'm seriously reconsidering posting something back up to warn others down the road...i had not idea this has been going on for so long. what a d-head.
