25 Random & Possibly Odd Things about Me, J. Money
Sure this is a finance blog, but it's also a "personal" finance one too - so I suppose dishing the dirt on myself kinda sorta fits in here ;) So this one's for you Kristy @ Master Your Card!
But rather than doing a kosher "here's 25 things about me", I figured you'd rather hear 25 "random & odd" things about me. Makes it more interesting, right? And if you could care less (I wouldn't blame ya) check out my interview over at Studenomics today! My man did a great job - thanks bro :)
Alrighty - Buckle up your seatbelts kids, here we go:
- I eat macaroni & cheese with mustard.
- I've moved over 30+ times in my life. (military kid + ants in my pants)
- I often feel the need to give everyone High Fives when i'm drinking.
- I'm addicted to reality tv shows.
- Sometimes I say I like all music except country, but deep down i really DO like country ;)
- I get asked at LEAST once a week if I'm in a band....and everytime i consider lying and saying I am. Actually, once I got mistaken for some lead singer I've never heard of, and when asked for my autograph I gave it. no harm in that right?
- Sometimes I think it would be cool to try every single drug out there just once so I know what it's about...and then other times I wanna punch myself in the face for thinking that.
- My favorite alcoholic drink are Long Island Iced Teas, followed by Bailys on ice.
- I once flew to The Mall of America for the day, and then flew back hours later. Much easier to do when you work for the airlines ;)
- I get really competitive when playing Kickball.
- I have the memory of a goldfish.
- I really hate it when people are mean for the sake of being mean.
- I've had my hair dyed blue, green, purple, red, orange, and platinum. And once I even tried growing dreads, which really turned out to look like little worms hanging around.
- i often write like a little kid just to see if it matters.
- I thought doing this list would be quick and easy. It's not so easy, and I've spent 30 mins so far.
- Mrs. Budgetsaresexy and i met at a bar. She asked me where the bathroom was, and I told her. I then asked her to dance and she said no....but my dance moves must have been pretty sweet as she was lured back in ;)
- We have a cat who likes to dig through my spare change jar, and then throw the coins all over our bedroom floor.
- I almost got arrested once while hosting a "hugs and thugs" party in college...turns out answering the door for the police while brandishing a fake gun and a beer in your hand doesn't go over too well. (the ladies of the house were able to woo over the officer)
- I once went to an audition for American Idol. You know that rocker guy who got through last night? that wasn't me....
- Sometimes I wonder how i've kept this blog going for so long since I usually hate writing.
- I would spend $5.00 for a banana if I had to.
- I can't stand the word "gnarly" - esp. when used to describe something positive.
- I don't understand why guys get tongue rings?
- I have the most loving and understanding family in the whole world, which can be somewhat strange considering my father is an ex-Marine.
- If i were ever to win the lottery, I'd randomly mail out crisp $100 bills around town.
------------
- 7 other things about me.
- 5 more random things about me (in pictures)

Re: #5, Glad you're admitting to liking country. I used to listen to it ALL the time. :)
okay! now really J, you flew here just for the MOA??? haha, maybe its just cuz I work 5 min from that mall, but in minnesota, you ONLY go to the Mall of America if you HAVE to. haha.
Thank you for curing my blogger's block. I linked it!
Ha! Thanks J. These are some pretty interesting facts you have here...really, mac and cheese with mustard? Yuck!
Now, I could answer 23 for you, but it's probably not appropriate for the blog....suffice it to say, they don't do it for themselves.
And I'm right there with you on moving over 30 times in my life...military brat, but no ants. Although, since we've settled in Texas, I have to say, I've been restless so perhaps the ants have moved in. Either that, or I really just want to move to L.A. *shrugs*
Thanks for playing along!
Haha ....I like your list better than mine: http://hisholydesign.blogspot.com/2009/02/25-random-facts-about-me.html
but you know, we're all weird and random in our own ways!
These were great. They were way more interesting than mine!
I've been meaning to set up a drop-ship business online. Would you be interested in some bulk purchases of bananas? I take Visa, MC, electronic check...
;oD
I normally go through these and list all the things I found interesting or that I can relate to. Instead, I'm just going to sum it all up by saying you're the collest PF blogger to ever exist. Also, you have disgusting taste in food and should be banned from mac and cheese. :)
J. Money,
#8? Really - Maybe I can get you a white wine spritzer next time! You are better than that I know you are
You have to live it up with Beer, Scotch or Vodka!
I actually did this today myself. Below is my 25 things.
http://weakonomics.com/2009/02/05/25-things-about-the-weakonomist/
I like how you met the Mrs. The Sheconomist and I met after her best friend sat on my lap in a taxicab headed to a bar.
Nice... you've inspired me to finally put mine on my blog (right now it's just on Facebook)! You're an interesting dude!
Mac & cheese with mustard may not be too bad. I should try it next time.
I grew up a country gal so it's part of who I am even though I don't listen to it much anymore :)
Oh man! i MISS kickball! that game was so fun!
dyed your hair all those colors huh? that's cool. probably looked awesome with the mohawk. my sisters ex boyfriends had mohawks and my mom helped them dye 'em (one was red and one was blue). i miss those boys!
you auditioned for american idol! sweeeeet.
@Revanche - yeah, i must admit it's pretty uplifting at times! if find i listen to country when i'm driving long distances or when i'm just flat out tired of hearing my favorite rappers make nonsense ;)
@PJ - That's right, i forgot you lived over there! haha...yeah man, it was the "cool" thing to do with all us airline workers ;) That, and flying to Boston for lunch and then turning right back...we were based out of NYC, so they weren't *that* long of trips. But that mall is huge! only got to 1/3 of the stores.
@Nicki - that's what i'm talkin' about girl - i'll def. be checking that out.
@Kristy @ Master Your Card - I'm telling you, try it ONE time and you just may like it ;) I did it by accident a few years ago and i've loved it ever since....esp if you cut up hot dogs in it too! mm mmmm tasty. and yes, i now get what you're saying about #23! haha...i still think there are other routes to take here though, but whatev.
@Jessica - most certainly! god made us all like that, we can't help it really ;) I enjoyed reading yours as well.
@444 - I can pay you in blog points, will that work? (and no, don't even know what that means...)
@Kaitlyn - *blush* Thx my friend! although I must admit I REALLY had to think hard to pull these interesting ones out of the list of 1,000+ not-so-fun ones...just wanted to make it a better read for all :) and if i ever see you in person, i will force you to try my specialty! (and you will like it.....*evil laugh*)
@MyJourney - yeah yeah i know, i was waiting for someone to throw that out. but oddly enough i DO drink those too! haha...i blame that one on my mom for feeding them to me before my dad could throw beers my way. but believe me, i'd be just as happy next to a keg on night long! plus, much easier to down than liquor when playing Beer Pong.
@the weakonomist - "The Sheconomist"!!! haha that is awesome. And good work! I'll have to check out your list also.
@Nicole - Hey Nicole, yeah then i can check it out too :)
@Tiffanie @ welikemoney.com - Yes, most def. give it a whirl (and let me know what you think). And I actually accompanied someone to A.I. tryouts, but i did think about it ;) I figured i had a good shot of acting like a goon and getting on that way - no chance in hell my voice would carry me.
Ok- so I have never tried mac and cheese with mustard- but we eat it with ketchup all the time! AND with hotdogs- yum! Makes me feel like a kid again. :)
I have to agree with Kaitlyn- you are awesome. You must be a super fun person to hang out with, and super unpredictable. lol.
Wow, you are as wild as you seem in your blog posts. Wild but cool ;)
I think I'm almost your polar opposite. Drink? Never had one. My idea of a party is my sister, me, our 2 dogs eating watching a movie together in my room. (Yes, the dogs do watch sometimes. They love "Milo and Otis.")
Except for the moving part; I've moved 20+ times in my life - that 2/3 of you, kinda close. I have dyed my hair a couple of times - an exciting reddish-brown. :)
I know I'm a bit late but....I like mustard with my mac and cheese too. =D
just ate it 2 nights ago actually ;) good stuff for sure...
