PF Round Up: Founding Fathers, Blogging, & Tax Free Money

by J. Money on Friday, July 10, 2009

Articles I enjoyed this week:

  1. Money tips from our Founding Fathers – Brilliant quotes from brilliant people! Including two of my favorites: Benjamin Franklin and John Adams. And while the Jefferson one is thought provoking, it still kills me that he died with so much debt.
  2. Turning $5,000 into $110,000 (tax free) – All it takes is time – “No, it’s not a scam and no, you can’t do it overnight.” haha, amen brother. Once you take a read, be sure to *start*!
  3. Holy Sh*t – I can’t believe what I did – The Frugal Bachelor strikes again! I’ve always admired those who take big risks, but man does this guy take it to the next level. He’s literally asking his readers to make a *huge* decision for him! Read to find out what…and then vote.
  4. Reminder: Why you shouldn’t listen to me – A friendly reminder from a fellow finance blogger to his readers that we’re not professional advisers ;) We have some great experiences and love to spread the good word, but at the end of the day most of us are just that – bloggers.
  5. If the shoe fits….guest blog for it – Exceptional advice. An excerpt, “If you’re not good at something, either become good at it or….find someone to fill the void and strengthen your company or team”

Carnivals I participated in:

  1. Carnival of Personal Finance – “Independence Day Around The World” by Darwin’s Finance
  2. Carnival of Debt Reduction – “Stale Brat” ed. hosted by Rocket Finance
  3. Festival of Frugality #185 – “Barbecue” ed. hosted by Your Money Relationship
