Weekly Roundup: Tyler Durden, Walmart, and Pot. (yes, pot)
by J. Money on Friday, September 18, 2009
Favorite Articles of the Week:
- Tyler Durden’s Guide To Personal Finance @ Man vs. Debt – I really don’t know what to say here other than a) this post is GENIUS, and b) I really wish I had thought of it myself ;) Very very well thought out and put together – a must read.
- Accidental Frugality – Can You Live on Half Your Income? @ Stop Buying Crap – I like this post a lot :) Cap doesn’t write as much as he used to (he’s pretty busy over at Billshrink’s blog) BUT when he does it’s freakin’ hilarious. To answer his question though, No I cannot live off half my income but I am def. working towards it! Or at least to live off of 1 of the salaries between the wifey and I.
- No More Paper Checks At Walmart @ Mrs. Micah – I never heard this until Mrs. Micah wrote about it, but her theories as to whether it’ll be a good or bad idea are pretty interesting. Instead of paper checks, they’ll now be getting their money on DEBIT CARDS! I’m not totally sure how that’s going to work out.
- Life Project Plan @ Debt Free Dad of 6 – I love seeing outlines of how others are managing their finances and life in general. When you put it all down in one spot like that, it’s MUCH easier to stay on track and hold yourself accountable/motivated.
- How Passion Can Transform Your Blog @ Pro Blogger – While this post is centered around blogging, the idea of using your passion to get better can go along way with anything in life – in particular your career!
- McDonalds Combo Meal Includes Gun and Bags of Pot @ Consumerist – You can’t really learn too much from this post (unless, of course, you’re in the business of dealing drugs at fast food joints), but it’s a pretty entertaining read :) Big thanks to Jesse over at PF Firewall for finding this gem – I don’t know how I missed it.
