The Best Time to Buy Things... (with info-graphic)
Check out this sweet graphic I was forwarded by one of my newsletter readers (thx Kelly!):

According to LifeHacker, these are the Best Times to Buy Anything, All Year Round! I'm neither patient, nor a good purchase planner, but it's good to keep in the back of our minds, no? Maybe download the high res version and save for later use? If you know of any hardcore frugalites you could always sneak onto their computer and save it as their wallpaper ;) I bet they'd love that...
You'll have to click on over to view the products in detail by month, but here's a condensed version for for ya (pay attention to the current Winter things):
- Best things to buy in WINTER: Air conditioners, gas grills, houses (for price), luggage
- Best things to buy in SPRING: TVs, houses (for availability), boots & winter gear
- Best things to buy in SUMMER: Big appliances, furniture, laptops, cars
- Best things to buy in FALL: Shrubs, trees, and bulbs (that you can store), car parts, wedding dresses, HDTV and home theater equipment.

Great tips! I'm gonna bookmark this information for the things I need to buy in the near future.
I tend to think January / February has to be a decent time to buy things like electronics and other consumer products since retailers are prob feeling the post holidays hangover.
I love this infographic, especially since I've been scoping out winter coat sales for what feels like an eternity.
I'd disagree about houses. Generally you can get a better price in the fall or winter because people moving then are usually more desperate to sell.
Now all we need is an info-graphic on when to buy stock, then we'll have the money to buy this stuff:-)
This is an interesting perspective on price fluctuations but does it still miss opportunities, I wonder? Like electronics, wouldn't we still be better off to buy technology that is a little dated?
Hah! Would love one for stocks but you know it wouldn't be right ;) And as much as I'd love to buy things according to the "best times" via this infographic, there's no way I could wait on things....i'm a 'do it when I'm in the mood for it' type guy - for the good or bad! (except major purchases)
The graphic is helpful, but is it actually true. I am looking to get married here in the near future. Looks like I missed the opportunity for my wife to get her hands on a good deal on a dress. :(
During off seasons stores normally as their sales and so prices will be reduced. Thanks for the graphic.
Oh good! I'm buying a house at the right time of year.
You're buying a house MBHunter?! To be closer to our Happy Hours? ;)
@Tracy - I like to tell myself NO a lot too...although recently I'm starting to bore myself. haha...
That's an awesome info-graphic!! I bought my bicycle this month (January) so I'm a month off, but still got a pretty good deal =) Let's hope the prices aren't slashed when I ride by that bicycle shop next month.
Ilove this infographics, I should buy and nearly always encompasses more of the IF I should buy. Lately the answer is usually no. The truth is, though, that there are always things we need to purchase.Business Opportunity Online
Ooh yeah, would be interested to see eh? let me know if it DOES get cut...but i hope it doesn't for ya ;) still cool you got a bargain.
Very informative post. I like this image a lot.
