Man, I’m tough!!! Haha… this is already hard and I haven’t even started! Okay, here we go though – my 5 favorite things:
- Credit card – Hmmm… I actually don’t think I have a favorite? My USAA cards work just fine, and I get decent cash back (at least I think I do, I honestly don’t research this as much as I prob. should), but I can’t say it’s like all supreme or anything. I have a feeling you guys might have some good ones up your sleeves!
- Book – This is tricky cuz I have 3 favorites depending on my mood (and who I’m recommending it to). For people who like stories, it’s always The Richest Man in Babylon! Love that book. For those who like numbers and how millionaires REALLY live, of course it’s The Millionaire Next Door. And then lastly, for those who need a good kick in the ass, as well as a game plan with action items, it’s totally I Will Teach You To Be Rich. Which also happens to be one of the FUNNIEST books in the field too! (and comes from a fellow blogger)
- Company – I think y’all know who that is ;) (*ahem* USAA)
- Tool – Can you believe it’s not a budget? Or maybe it’s tied w/ budgeting, I don’t know ;) But it’s the almighty 401(k)!! Freakin’ love that thing. And miss it a lot too! haha… how can you beat 100% matching from your company?? That’s free money baby. You double up just by contributing to it yourself – something that you SHOULD be doing anyways!
- Favorite coin – The nickel! I don’t know why really, I guess I just like the way it looks the best. Have you ever seen a “Hobo nickel?” Crazy!!! Back in the day people carved faces & designs in them – pretty cool stuff. I dream of coming across one in the wild one day :)

1) What’s your favorite credit card? Not a Fan of CC’s and only have 1 but they give me 5% back on most of what I buy so I’ll keep them around, and pay them off every month (free money)
2) What’s your favorite financial book? David Ramsey “The Total Money Makeover” it was one of the first ones I read and I enjoyed it
3) What’s your all-time favorite financial company? Does John Hancock count… they hold most of my funds and if they don’t do well I don’t do well :-)
4) What’s your favorite financial tool? Used to be MS money, now i just keep everything on a spread sheet and thru my banks online systems. It works for me for the most part. (I would like to find something more like MS Money though.. I hated MINT.com)
5) And lastly, what’s your favorite coin? ;) Half-Penny… cus thats gonna buy you a lot of stuff right there.. and I’m sure it cost more to make it than its worth.

Don’t have one, but learning about hobo nickels was pretty sweet.
1) So Far from my experience it would have to be MBNA World Points CC if you play by their rules you wont get burned and they have awesome varitey of world points products.
2)Skipping Christmas so far because it taught this frugal man how to be even more frugal. Ha
3)Vanguard without a doubt.
4)J. money’s budget cause it motivated me to shoot higher for my goals.
5)I like the new Gold Dollars, they just look damn shiny. Cant keep my eyes off them.

5) I have absolutely no idea. :-P
1) What’s your favorite credit card? The only one I am actively using is my Target Visa – and that’s one at Target and only cause they take 5% off the transaction when you use it. Then,when I get home, I just log on and pay them whatever I charged. YaY!
2) What’s your favorite financial book? Automatic Millionaire. It has to be. I bought it twice – just in case something happens to the first copy!
3) What’s your all-time favorite financial company? The bank of Mom & Dad. As long as you keep your credit good (paying them back as agreed, or even better, faster than agreed) it is a 0% loan. (Of course, you can only use this company in REAL emergency situations. But you can’t beat 0 percent each and every time! – Besides, they had set up a “lend money to the kids account” for each child with a certain amount in it. If you don’t pay it back, there is no money left in the account to borrow – and you are losing out on the interest that the account pays out!)
4) What’s your favorite financial tool? (could be software, investment vehicles, or anything you consider a “tool” really) Budgets are sexy, of course! And the spreadsheets that I created for myself. I hate the cookie cutter, already made for you designs. They aren’t specific enough for what I want to track, see and know!
5) And lastly, what’s your favorite coin? I have a penny, nickle, dime and quarter minted the year I was born. Those are my favorites. :) I also am pretty partial to some of my Euros and Won that I have left over from my stint living overseas.
1) What’s your favorite credit card? – Definitely my Discover card. I’m always sad when I find a place that doesn’t take it!
2) What’s your favorite financial book? – Loved The Millioinaire Next Door. I think it definitely made me realize that it’s not how much money you make, but what you do with the money you have.
3) What’s your all-time favorite financial company? – Ummmm, I guess right now ING – but I’m not really tied to that.
4) What’s your favorite financial tool? (could be software, investment vehicles, or anything you consider a “tool” really) – My lowtech spreadsheet that lets me see what we’re saving and spending in a month. I should probably jump on the Quicken bandwagon though lol.
5) And lastly, what’s your favorite coin? ;) – I’ve got this French coin about the size of a US dollar coin in my wallet. It has no practical value, but the last time it wasn’t there, I got into a car accident. Superstitious? Uhh, yes. =)

OMG those pennies that I would flatten into a smashed oval in that machine at the rest stops on my way from nyc to maryland when I was a kid. I had one that had a teddy bear on it. :)
1) What’s your favorite credit card? My favorite CREDIT CARD is my Discover. Can’t beat the 1% cash back, and also the random 5% cash back perks during different times. My favorite DEBIT CARD is my USAA Debit. Get those ATM fees refunded?!? Game on!
2) What’s your favorite financial book? Anything by my homie Dave Ramsey
3) What’s your all-time favorite financial company? um, let’s see…hmmmmmmm….man this is a hard one! (just being facetious…) OF COURSE USAA!!!!
4) What’s your favorite financial tool? (could be software, investment vehicles, or anything you consider a “tool” really) Definitely my 401k, but also the CreditCheck Monitoring that USAA offers on their website. I worked too damn hard to build up that score to 800+, that I keep an eye on it weekly.
5) And lastly, what’s your favorite coin? haha I’m personally a fan of the quarter. (Probably b/c my 4 yr old is CONSTANTLY asking for them)

My Amazon Chase card. Those reward points add up so quickly and I can always redeem it for cash.

Gosh, I don’t read them, so it would have to be a blog. Guess you’re a winner Budgets are Sexy!

GE, becaue its making me some monayyy (in the stock market)

Zecco! I love my online trading account. With trades at 4.95 a pop (although I was there when trading was 4.00) it can’t be beat.

I love the quarter. It really makes me giddy to find them in my purse.
1) What’s your favorite credit card? Don’t really use them much, just occassionally to keep them active – I like my cash-back rewards debit card from my credit union though
2) What’s your favorite financial book? Dave Ramsey books are great but I’m more of an article reader when it comes to PF

Suze Orman’s Young, Fabulous, and Broke. Not exactly earth shattering info, but I read it at a crucial time in my young financial life and I think it made a difference.

YNAB. For the first time in our marriage, we’re keeping a real budget. It’s great. I highly recommend YNAB to anyone who has struggled with budgeting and accountability.
5) And lastly, what’s your favorite coin? ;)
Wheat pennies. I’ve been collecting them since I was kid.
1) I only have one credit card so I guess it’s my favorite – AmEx rewards card paying 1% cash back.
2) The Little Book of Common Sense Investing by John C Bogle.
3) Vanguard, naturally.
4) My favorite financial tool is a budget. Doesn’t matter what format it takes, you really can’t make use of anything more sophisticated until you’ve got a budget.
5) The 1913 Indian head gold nickel. I inherited one from my great-grandparents. I looked up its worth this week and it could probably score me a couple grand but I’m keeping it for sentimental value.
1) What’s your favorite credit card? Discover More for everything but gasoline and the PenFed Visa for my 5% cash back on gas. :-)
2) What’s your favorite financial book? “The Automatic Millionaire” by David Bach
3) What’s your all-time favorite financial company? Fidelity
4) What’s your favorite financial tool? Roth IRA. It’s not as great as free money from a 401(k), but it is a great financial product that I will have to rely on even more once I start working from home. :-)

1) I guess it would be my visa through my credit union. I mainly use it for trips and big purchases. I hate the holds some companies put on our checking account for vacations.
2) I Will You to Be Rich – Ramit combines a wicked sense of humor along with the hard numbers on finances.
3) I’m a fan of ING Direct – love their service.
4) Google Docs – I love being able to work on the spreadsheets and share them with my husband.
5) Not a big coin fan, but I guess I would go with the Ben franklin commemorative silver dollar.

1. Credit card — couldn’t really say! Between my hub and i we have ONE cc and we use that to pay our phone bill and absolutely nothing else. We mostly use debit cards for purchases. I know some CCs have some excellent rewards but i’ll be honest…they scare me.
2. Book – Suze orman’s money guide for the Young, Fabulous, and Broke. I love Suze Orman and right now that’s the best book for me, age-wise (I’m 23.) Right now I’m just trying to wade my way through student loan debt and figure out what the heck a Roth IRA is. She spells it out so cleanly.
3. Company — don’t have one yet. Does 5/3 Bank count? haha.
4. Financial tool — my handy budget i downloaded from thriftylittleblog.com. it’s an excel spreadsheet, but it’s pretty darn useful and it gets a lot of mileage! That, and my trusty calculator.
5. Coin — gotta rep the Indian Head pennies. My dad sells them on Ebay. haha.

1. The credit card DH charges stuff for work, they pay the bill, I get the rewards. lol It isn’t a monthly thing, but lately his work card had been full when he needs to buy something expensive.
2. Never read any cover to cover.

4. My iPhone, and USAA of course. I check accounts, pay my child allowance, and most importantly, deposit DH’s paychecks.

Fav. Credit Card- That would have to be my Best Buy Reward Zone MasterCard. I love earning points on this, and getting stuff at Best Buy. After each purchase, I make a full payment so I never get charged any interest.
Fav. Book- I haven’t actually come across a financial book yet that I could call a favorite. Guess I just haven’t read the right ones yet.
Fav. Financial Company- So far, it would be ING Direct. I know there rates have totally dropped over the last few years, but they still beat most banks. Also, the ability to make a $hitload of accounts to have more detailed savings rocks. My absolute favorite is being able to transfer as little as a quarter. That was one of the ways we were able to start saving a few years ago.
Fav. Tool- Excel. I know I’m a dork, but making spreadsheets and such is so much fun sometimes.
Fav. Coin- Well that would be my Pirates Gold! Love my plunder ;-)
J Money, I lived in Seoul for a year – right around the Itewon area – (3 stops from the Seoul Station – about a 3 minute walk to the Woman’s University Station)
I absolutely LOVED Korea. I have gone back to visit once – and plan on taking my kids there to visit a little later in life. (Maybe I should join that “What I plan on doing” list? :o) )

Book: Not a fan of fiction, so anything educational (technical, etc.)

Tool: Computer–I couldn’t track my finances without it. I’m not sure I remember how those “pen and paper” things work anymore.
Coin: The British pound sterling. It seems like the perfect size and weight for a coin.

I’d have to save Total Money Makeover since it’s the one that I’ve read most recently.

Not sure…perhaps LPL Financial since they manage my investments.

It was MS Money until they did away with the program. I’m now using mint.com…it’s okay.

None. I don’t even own one, and never have. My husband has two with Capital One and they seem to be good.

Probably Capital One. We’ve tried several banks, and no one has treated us as well as they do. Their online tools are phenomenal too. I have a couple business accounts there, as well as a savings. (We keep the personal checking at a separate bank)

Mint.com for personal finance/budget. Freshbooks.com for business.

The quarter. I think this is because I have a 4yr old. He knows that any change he finds laying on the dresser can be his (and boy does he snatch it up fast) except the quarters. Mommy and Daddy save those for washing the car. :)

I am new to paying down my debts and I just finally opened a 401K at work…so i need all the help I can get!
I love USAA as well. Love the AMEX card (and rewards) and the fact that I opened a mutual fund up with them and the interface to add money, check the balance, transfer it, etc. is soooo easy to use. Favorite tool – my BIKE! Favorite book, hmmm….I’m not sure about that one. Favorite coin – the quarter; only takes 4 to make a dollar. ;)

Meh, don’t have favorite card. Maybe when I saving up for a trip to DisneyWorld I like the Disney visa.

Kinda financial – it’s called Mindset by Carol Dweck. She’s a PhD psychologist at Stanford and presents some amazing anecdotes and research. Basic premise is people who aren’t afraid to do hard work and believe they can grow, are more successful and happier. Seems simple, duh, why wouldn’t everyone think like that. But many times we don’t. And she points out some areas of peoples lives where the don’t. One of those books that completely shifts the way I think about the world.
3) What’s your all-time favorite financial company?
Vangaurd. Thank your for cheap, well managed mutual funds. And thier logo is practically a pirate ship. Awesome.
4) What’s your favorite financial tool? (could be software, investment vehicles, or anything you consider a “tool” really)
Hands down, PearBudgets free downloadable spreadsheet. I had the worst time budgeting before I found it. Now I’ve been using them strong goin on 4 years now. Simple, cheap, I enter my purchases in and it tracks things really well. Informercial end.
5) And lastly, what’s your favorite coin? ;)
Sacagawea dollar. How many women make it onto American currency? And she was a rockin awesome lady too. And it’s simplier to pay for public transit, you don’t have to worry if the dumb machine will accept your paper dollar bill.

HSBC’s Household Credit Card… 2 % cash back on everything!!!!! I get $25 checks in the mail… Cash is King!

They had no housing for us on base, so we had to go outside and live for the year we were there :) Imagine if we crossed paths back then and didn’t even know it?
