FREE Ticket to the sold out Financial Blogger Conference!

Yessir, got a hot one for you today!  If you’ve been trying to get into the SOLD OUT Financial Blogger Conference next weekend, you get a chance to win a free ticket right now (a $200 value)!  My friends over at TotBargains ended up not being able to go anymore, and they’ve reached out to me to give it away to someone who really wants to go (so nice of them – thank you!!). So if you’re *that* someone, here’s all you have to do to try and win it:

Write a short poem telling us why YOU should be the one to go over the others, and then put it in the comments below – that’s it! We’ll pick the winner in 24 hours, and then I’ll personally see your smiley little face next weekend in Chicago :)  I’ll even throw in a hug. Now go go go!  We want one of you to be able to use it!

————-
PS:  Phil (the organizer of the conference) is on standby waiting to xfer it into one of your names ;) It’s gonna be a fun one!

***THE WINNER!*** There was no way I was gonna manually choose this myself, cuz I want all of y’all to be there!, so we left it up to Mr. Random.org… and out of all 8 entries, the lucky winner it chose is…. Poem #3! Red!! I’ll be seeing your anonymous face soon! ;)

***For everyone else who entered, I’ll be emailing you something on the side. I don’t have any more free tickets to give out, but there may be another option for you ;) Stay tuned…

I remember many days, of various financial dismays.
I then saw the light, and put up a courageous fight.
My mind was set, TO DEATH WITH THE DEBT!
Paid bills on time and well ahead, month after month I saw less red.
After twenty four months my debt was gone, my life less mirrored a bad country song.
Instead of becoming a criminal robber, I aspired to be a financial blogger.
Sparing myself of wrongdoings by the SEC, I became a welcoming guest to the FBC!

My friend Girl With a Red Balloon
Left the blogosphere for many moons.
    But now she’s back
The lack of tickets is wack!
Let me win so we can all meet her soon.

There was once a gal from Tennessee
Who was in so much CC debt she could barely breathe
    She created a budget
    And paid off that nugget
    Now she’s ballin’ like Buffet!

(So not true… But I will be! Someday! Please?)

My dear wife, she doth think
    Money groweth on trees
My wallet she daily causes to shrink
Methinks our credit cards I must freeze!

    A soothsayer I am not
But for true you must see
    This conference of thought
Shall be the savior of me’!

But soft! What light through yonder window breaks?
It is FinCon! It shines from east of here
In Cal, as it takes place nearer great lakes.
    What’s this? A ticket I can commandeer?
Why should I come, you might find yourself ask,
This newbie in the PF blogosphere?
Answer: near the great speakers, I would bask:
The knowlege gained would be my souvenir.
Though I may be seen as an upstart crow,
    I’m starting to come into what’s my own;
And while, without me, FinCon may not blow,
If I were there, I’d tickle funny bones.
When I saw this contest, I yelled “Holla!”
My plane tix would be worth ev’ry dolla’!

    Girl With The Red Balloon
To FINCON she needs the ticket
With her in the mix, the time would be wicked
So let it to her be gifted.

She blogs about life and finance
behind her a balloon would dance
    She would FINCON enhance
    Don’t let the time elapse
To her should the ticket advance

She’s known on Twitter as Red
If she came, with Andrea she’d bed
Some would say that was hot
    I can’t deny that it’s not
An event that could not be forgot

    Girl With The Red Balloon
Will we all get to meet you soon?
We don’t know your real name,
    In Twitter you have fame,
If we don’t meet you J. Money’s to blame.

There once was a girl from the Midwest,
who had nary a penny to invest.
But then she learned how to budget
so that she would no longer have to fudge it.
And now she’s financial planning with the best.

    Twas the week before FinCon
    The outlook was bleak
    For a blogger in debt
    A ticket she did seek.

    Her name was Debt Princess
    She wasn’t that known
But the chance to meet others
Hadn’t been worth a small loan.

So her hope it did vanish
And her jealousy, well it grew.
    Maybe she’d go next year
    And the following one too.

Her chance to win a ticket,
    Made her excited beyond compare.
Was there time to get a hotel room?
Oh my god, what to do with her hair!

    She took pen to paper,
    At six in the morn
    Her words came like magic
    Before her coffee was warm.

And so she hopes and she prays,
    To be the lucky gal
    To meet you in Chicago
    With all your brilliant pals.

Pick her she pleads with a big smile
You’ll be glad when you do.
She’ll give you a big hug
And buy you a pint, hell maybe two.

Awww….. I wouldn’t have hated you, Bryan! I kind of wanted everyone to win – I hate that there weren’t enough tickets to go around. I have a feeling it will be a MUCH larger event next year and we won’t have that problem. :)

There wasn’t ever a problem of getting a ticket unless you waited ’till the last minute! Haha… They were only like $80 in the beginning, 6+ months ago ;) It wasn’t towards the end when they went up to $200 and started running out…

Thanks for hosting this giveaway, J. Money! I’m still in shock a little. I can’t believe I won! And it was my crappy limerick with the wrong rhyme scheme (as my husband so lovingly pointed out when he read it). I can’t wait to meet y’all there!
