Sweet laptop. I would suprise my college student brother with it. Although it is a pretty sweet laptop, I am not sure if I would be able to follow through, maybe I would give my brother my 2 year old laptop and keep it for myself.

Awesome! My boyfriend dropped my laptop and, it being 4 years old and VERY well used, it smashed into a bunch of different pieces. This happened on Sunday and I’ve been using our 1990s desk top with linux on it ever since – or my work computer.

Wow I could really use a laptop right now. My laptop that I bought for Grad school – takes atleast 15 minutes to boot. It’s such a drag to use for my personal projects and when I need to login remotely for work. Last year we had a major snowstorm and our CEO asked everyone to work from home. If I’m lucky enough to win, this laptop will stay in our household. Our current laptop is old, but mostly functional. The 3 and 6 keys no longer work, which isn’t a huge problem for the adults, but it sure is for my older son when he’s practicing his math facts :) Thanks very much for the chance to win!

I could totally use this laptop myself! Mine is about to crap out on me, and it is only 2.5 years old. Sadly, the battery does not hold a charge at all (and this is the 2nd battery I have had for this thing), and some of the keys don’t work. The speakers are shot, as is the webcam and mic. No bueno.
My brother is currently on a job hunt and things are made increasingly difficult by his not having a computer (his old one died and without sufficient income he was unable to replace it). Between using the library and our parents’ computer he’s managed to make it work, but I know that getting a new computer of his own would go a long way toward making him feel less as though the world is against him, and give him something to be excited about. I want to set it in the back window of my car (where my Crown Royal bag usually sits) and then turn it up with the bass cranked. Kind of like a geeky trunk sub-woofer. Just to see if it would work. My mac is so broken the screen is practically falling off. When the problem first started i was told it would take $2000 to fix, so bend screw after two years turned into broken laptop. It really needs replacing. And preferable not with another Mac.

I would definitely keep this laptop for myself! Mine is the one my parents gave me when I got accepted to college 5 years ago. It has since had beer spilled on it, had 2 parts recalled (which were fixed), and runs…I would say as slow as Christmas, but as that’s coming up pretty quickly…as slow as a cheetah with a broken leg. In addition, because the laptop’s fan is so terrible I had to buy an external fan. Which has recently broken into 1000 pieces. Yea. I need this.

Well, 2011 has been a rough year for me. I have lost my fiance and my grandmother, I was obligated to move into a new apartment, and I struggled my way out of college receiving an Associates degree for Accounting. Not to mention I have a six year old child to take care of….Although I can sit here and say “I deserve this laptop”, if I win I will be giving this laptop to a friend who will put it to good use.

My laptop broke and the cost to repair is as much as a new one. It is not affordable to repair right now and going to the library to use the computer is inconvenient and I can’t print coupons off to help my budget. I could really use the laptop.

My wife is a stay at home mom. Last week our laptop of 6 years passed away. It was creepy because it was the fan that went. It kinda sounded like labored computer breathing. Then it took its final gasp. Anyway, we cut the cord on the cable and had been using the computer for a TV substitute. I think it’d be nice for her to connect with the world during the day.

High school sure is different from when I was a kid – students do everything on a computer. I don’t think I have seen a physical paper or poster board project since she was in elementary school. Everything is uploaded to flashdrives/wikispaces/teacher’s portals. It’s crazy!!

So, I have this amazing little brother who is 14. He is dyslexic, ADD, and he is learning two languages at the same time. He is trying really hard to get all A’s and B’s in his first semester of high school. He wants to be an architect. He is extremely hard working, sweet, and kind. He is the type of person that HAS stepped in front of cars to save strangers’ dogs (much to the dismay of my parents), and always tries to boost his friends’ self esteem (young girls on the “curvier” side). I am really proud of him. I would give him this laptop. He currently has my old laptop, which is not almost eight years old.

My netbook is getting older and can’t grow to meet my new Volunteer, academic needs.
I am starting my volunteer work as a job mentor, as well as work with a local literacy council. I would love to have a laptop that would allow me to have a separate computer with which to work with clients and allow them a practice computer while I work with them. Since I am volunteering and seeking full-time employment, I sure can’t afford a laptop to help them out, but I sure would love to have the options to help out others succeed.
The computer looks like a fantastic upgrade for tutoring fantastic music, and graphic programs, as well as media usage for tutoring and private consulting.
I needs a new laptop. My laptop’s hard drive just crashed out of the blue 2 weeks ago and we’ve been forced to use my wife’s laptop from college with a busted hinge. It doesn’t even have wifi so we have to drape a 30 foot ethernet cable across the whole apartment.

I would want to give this to my boyfriend’s oldest son. He has a 12, 13 and 16 year old boys all sharing one old desktop for homework and games and emails. Having another in the house would make for a lot less fighting, and maybe better grades all around.

My lap top is beyond it’s last leg. Keeping it powered on has become a sizzling balancing act… literally. If I don’t hold the power adapter just right it starts to make all these extra bad noises that electronics should never make. (Trust me, I’m an electrical engineer) But Andi, if you’re an engineer why don’t you fix it? Ahhh, because it’s basically the last piece to come out of the pc, disassembling a lap top is fun, reassembling a lap top is like brain surgery, so so many things can go horribly wrong. I’ve already taken it apart, the coupling capacitors around the power supply have blown, oh yeah and it’s 5 years old. It is begging to be put down!

I would TOTALLY give this to my nephews. My oldest neph asked for a laptop, which I totally wanted to give him… but instead I just spent $3K on my car. So, I had to dicker him down to a cheaper present that he still wanted… $20 helicopter.
I would give this laptop to my mom. She just lost her job and doesn’t own a computer. She was using her work computer to get online. The other day she told me that she wants to start a blog so she could really use this computer.
My boyfriend was sweet enough to sacrifice his laptop because he knew that I wanted an iPad so badly — he sold it and let me use the cash to get the iPad. He’s the primary user of the Macbook that I originally had, but I’d love him to have his own laptop to play video games on.

Ahhhh this is amazing, J! So I’ve had my HP laptop for 4 years now, got it my freshman year of college. It’s been great but now is running slower, makes weird noises, and blinks when I open Word, about 70% of the time. I do need a new laptop! My 3yr old one I took in because the place where you plug in the wall adapter to had dislodged. I took it in to get it soldered back in place and the dummies made it worse. The cd drive falls out of my laptop and my laptop is now going a speedy turtle pace! I would love to replace mine.

I REALLY REALLY need a new laptop. My current one has no battery, the power port is loose so the cord falls out all the time (which sucks when you are writing a blog post and haven’t yet hit save), it’s cracked in the bottom corner so you can actually see what the screen is made up of. His laptop is on its last leg, and he’s trying to keep it going as long as possible since finances are a little tight lately. My current laptop is 6 years old, the keyboard is missing 2 keys, there are two pieces of the case that are broken off & a full charge will only let me unplug for about 5 minutes.
This is so needed right now! I am running my husbands business(because I am out of work) on an old PC. A laptop would help me more than you could ever know!
My current laptop is a 2007 Dell Inspiron that is slower than molasses in January compared to my new desktop. It is hardly worth using because it is so slow to even load a browser window. So if I win, I would keep the new laptop and donate the old one to the Arizona Humane Society to either use themselves or sell in their thrift shop.
I’d keep it because our current computer is messed up and there’s no sound on it.
I’m trying to teach myself programming so I would use it for that!
My wife is the basis for the Terminator movies. She destroys any computer she comes in contact with so they want to take care of her. I would keep the laptop and hand down my netbook to my teenage daughter. I’m working on my second novel and the lack of a lit keyboard is sometimes a problem. I could totally use this! The one I use for my business had the screen busted. I was moving my drum set in from a weekend gig and fell back right on to it! I need the laptop so i can record and edit my music on the go. This would make my jobinfinitely better .
I could sooo use this laptop now. We currently have one laptop for our household and with two teenagers in the house they sometimes have to wait on each other to finish up homework.

I am 25 years old and am about to leave my job of 5 years in Spring 2012 to go back to school in the Fall and get my Bachelor’s degree. I could use a laptop pretty badly, and it doesn’t hurt that it is so awesome! :] Thanks for the opportunity!

I just saved up for over a year to buy myself a laptop, so if I won, I’d give to my husband who’s now jealous of mine!
Would probably turn this into a hackintosh for my wife to use for design work :) Macs are too expensive and this would probably run OS X judging by the hardware in it :)
I could really use this because my current compute over heats and now does not read CD’s. I was hoping to get a new computer around tax time but this would make my life so much easier! (so it would be for me) :)

I could use this pretty badly. I guess I can get by using my ancient Pentium processor powered Windows Me machine, but really why would I want to? :)
I would give the laptop to my wife for Christmas. Our laptop is broken and our desktop almost 9 to 10 years old. This would make her happy since I had to put a new Transmission into our van.

my current home laptop is because of my executive position for a political group. My term ends in Feb and I’ll be without a laptop, and I’ve really grown to enjoy having one.
I really do not need this laptop, but if I won, I’d give my HP 210 mini to my sister.

I’d make my wife’s Christmas by giving this to her. Her ancient Compaq just died!
My Pentium M (!) laptop won’t play more than 20 minutes of video at a time without overheating, it’s nearly impossible to get the charging cable positioned in such a way as to charge, and the case is falling apart. Other than that….don’t really need it. OHGOD I NEEDIT

Now how bad could I use this!! Well I have two sons in college sharing one laptop that is refurbished. That says it all. I really could use another laptop so each son has his own, and one that is new would be so fabulous too! I’ll just keep hoping, I know one way or another everything will work out for us.
this would be amazing. i’m always on the computer, as well as the rest of my family, so this would be a huge help.
I would give the laptop to my fiance who is currently in college. This would significantly help us since we are saving for our wedding and we wouldnt have to get her a laptop. She currently has to write all her papers at work due to us only have my old pc from when i was in school 8 years ago.
Man I could really use this laptop. Mine sucks but I keep trudging along on it…I would give my old one to my 8 y/o son & keep the new one for myself! I am in love with my apple laptop but it’s old, so I would keep both!
I could definitely use this. My home computer is about 4 years old and will need to be replaced sometime soon and computers aren’t cheep.

I would give the laptop to my sister. Her fiance is out of a job and is desperately trying to find work. This laptop would allow him to search for work and help with the family finances.
Also, I don’t use facebook, but I have shared the dealzon website with many people before using good old fashioned Word Of Mouth!
I have ery old laptops and a very old desk top. All 3 have crashed. I have been unable to find work for 3 years so I have no income. I want to keep in touch with my kids and other family but can’t without a computer. I really miss them.
My starving-artist son is an aspiring musician, who certainly would benefit from the power and artistic emphasis of this HP monster. He would be able to master his own albums (and his newest collaboration is dropping tonight), rather than trusting it to well-meaning friends.
I would give this computer to my 13 year old son, who deserves better than his father’s 2006 hand-me-down Dell desktop. I ordered him DarkBasic for Christmas, but as it is I don’t have much faith that he’ll be able to actually work with the program. Murry Christmas!

This would become my primary computer. I would use it for job searching, taking notes at neighborhood watch meetings and for updating the web sites I volunteer for. I do a lot of work late at night so the lighted keys would be great. I also like to stream video of late night TV and a bit of gaming now and then.
Not gonna lie – I’d be keeping this baby for myself. That said, I have a ~1 year old laptop which I could then donate to the Office of Letters and Light, so they can lend it out to a would-be novelist for novel writin’ time. :)
