I’m a bit groggy from a 24 hour trip to the Jersey shore and back (the wife wanted to get away before the baby came, but we were too afraid to stay any longer in case she went into labor! :)), so today’s post is gonna be short and sweet. Just like an Oompa Loompa.

This weekend I had a picnic with friends and it cost me maybe about $5 worth of groceries I already had. :D
This weekend I went out to take photographs, and it cost me $30 ($15 film rolls, $10 hostel, $5 food)
I had to work overnights all weekend…so no money spent! I slept when I wasn’t at work.
This weekend I bought a toilet to replace the old one and it cost me $110. I could have fixed the old one for $20 but I was going to replace it soon anyways.
We went to a local cajun festival, and it cost me $20 and the boyfriend $30 for 2 nights. We bought discounted tickets and only got a couple beers. We brought our own water and ate dinner at home before we went to avoid spending a million bucks on food. We also walked there. He also bought coconut milk to make pancakes ($3) and I bought an iced coffee one day ($3). :)
This weekend I read a library book, and it cost me $0. :)
This weekend I did yard work for a neighbor (+$30) and then went to a bonfire, and it cost me $35 (for gas, PBR, and dinner beforehand).
My side hustle pretty much covered my entertainment for the weekend so that’s always fun!
This weekend I went to a bonfire and it cost me $2 for drinks. (Yay!) However, my son went to Seaside Heights with a friend and it cost me $55. Ugh.
This weekend I went out on the town and it cost me $100 which included drinks for me and two friends. Not too shabby actually! (let’s not talk about the associated hangover costs).
This weekend I officiated a wedding, and it cost me around $120. That’s 12.99 for a decent-looking notebook in have all notes, 19.47 for a new, more modest-looking dress (don’t want cleavage or too much leg, and that’s all I own!), 14.99 for a pair of last-minute flats from Target when I realized that I had to step down a rock wall and stand on uneven grass, 10. for the jacket that I decided was nessa–when I googled wedding officiants, they all had suit jackets or blazers on!–to cover the shoulders (thank you, Kohl’s for making this only $10 and look like a million bucks!), 10. for snacks at a coffee shop on Wednesday while I finished writing my charge, and 45. for babysitting Wednesday morning so that I could spend three hours at a coffee shop writing. Totally worth it–awesome to be able to give someone such a personal wedding gift!
This weekend I bought a headset with mic and a webcam, and it cost me $100 in total. My dog chewed the wires of my old headset and webcam so I needed to buy a replacement. It was totally out of the budget so have to wait for some time. Since they were not really important accessories for my computer, I had the luxury of time to save for the total cost so that I do not need to withdraw from our emergency fund.
This weekend I spent $5000 on a downpayment on a Harley for my husband and I. (The money came from selling his old bike)
This weekend I repaired my porch stairs and it cost me $20. I spent $15 on a 12 foot length of 2×6 to cut down to 2 new stair treads and a couple of support pieces and $5 on a box of 3″ screws.
This weekend we went to a local jazz festival and it cost $17 for food and a little bit of gas.
This weekend my wife and I went on a business trip to check on one of my work’s local offices that is on the coast. We hit the beach after checking on the office and had a great time. The total trip including gas, hotel, food, etc was about $500 but my work is paying for it all.

I spent $40 on a few rounds of drinks for myself, my boyfriend and our friend who hosted us at the beach for free, $50 on the bridal shower gift and $50 to fill my boyfriend’s gas tank since he drove us to/from the beach and lent me his car to drive to the bridal shower an hour away. Luckily, my wonderful boyfriend subsidized my food for the weekend.
This weekend, I went out to dinner on Friday with friends and drinks on Saturday with friends, and it cost me $200.

This weekend I went to the worst excuse for a ten year high school reunion BBQ ever, and it cost me $30.
This coming weekend will be better. My husband, daughter and I will be headed into the mountains for a three night stay in a cabin that only cost me $100. Way better!
This weekend I sat on my back deck and occassionally dipped in the kiddie pool with my son for a whopping total of $17.99. That was the cost of a new bottle of UV Blue vodka for our favorite summer drink, mixed with lemonade. Seeing 80% of the bottle is still in the cabinet, the cost might be lower.
However, don’t think I am some frugality expert or anything. If you asked this question next week, it would be horrific!! Headed to Vegas this weekend!

This weekend I took a day trip to Chicago to visit some friends (I live in Southeast Wisconsin so it’s not a far distance). I spent about $80 – lunch, a couple drinks and parking downtown since I drove. And $8 for a crepe filled with Nutella – SO worth it. Yum!
This weekend I went to part of a 150 mile long yard sale. I didn’t find much, so I spent around $4 on merchandise and about $15 on gas. Still had fun!

We live on one of the corners of the parade route so we could even see the parade from our kitchen window, but it was much cooler to go stand outside with everyone else and take awesome pictures :-)

This weekend I took my fiance out on an all-day date for his birthday and it cost me $45 ($5 at the cheap movie theater, $20 for dinner, $20 for dessert- chocolate fondue!)

I had to spend $40 to the car mechanic when a little light went on in my 1999 Toyota Camry. Turns out it may have just been a lose gas cap. The mechanic spent less than 5 minutes running a diagnostic and couldn’t find anything else wrong. Ouch! I have a lot of other ways I would’ve liked to spend that money.

The look of appreciation on his face was all that I needed to know it was money well spent. (He has just started his first after college job…and is making peanuts. I don’t think he would have been able to swing a weekend at country fest without a little help from MOM.)

This weekend we went to photoshoot my wife’s baby bump, it was done by a friend, so we bought a bottle of wine ($30), flowers for his wife ($10), and a huge pineapple ($5) – he loves those; in total $50 including the gas for the afternoon.
This weekend I worked a total of 33 hours between my two jobs and it cost me a lot of sleep, most of my patience, and all of my Starbucks gift card :)
this weekend I was in Turkey as a 3 months motorbike riding holiday, spent as usual about 100 dollars a day for two people. 25 of that goes to hotel, another 25 for food (we stuff ourselves at the hotel breakfast buffet, have a late lunch at a restaurant or a picnic, and buy fruits and drinks to snack at night in the hotel room), another 25 to put gas in my bike (gas is soo expensive in Turkey, over 9 dollars a gallon!), and the last 25 was for pleasure, we have visited some awesome ancient ruins and natural hot springs!

In this economy, and while I’m out of work right now, I watch every dime and penny I spend. So, this past weekend I opened up a gift bottle of wine. I grilled some chicken and corn… already in the house from a previous shopping. I invited a friend over on Saturday. She brought the dessert. Sunday, I caught up with old movie classics on TV. No money was spent over the weekend and I enjoyed myself tremendously. Good company, whether with a friend or a great classic movie was all that was needed to keep me happy.
