Hilarious!

#14. They pretend like they don’t have time to learn more about their money or manage it properly. Then they end up working a bunch of extra hours trying to cover all the extra expenses they didn’t take into account. :)

YES! No one ever has enough time to manage their money or eat or sleep or even breathe air these days. It’s amazing how we all survive each day ;)

Ha! Black cats with chainsaws would be even scarier…

Although I need to update my will since we moved from NJ to MA in October… Thanks for the reminder… and the GIF. I’m not much of a TV guy, but am pretty sure that GIF is from “Jersey Shore,” so it speaks to me as a former Jersey guy.

Funny but true! I know some people spend more than they make and in the end talk about how broke they are. By the way I love their funny faces it really made me laugh!

That drives me the craziest. It’s one thing to overspend or buy fancy stuff and keep quiet about it, but to complain to everyone how broke and “poor” you are is a complete other. It’s the same problem I have for those who bitch and moan about the gov’t or how horrible it is here in the US but then doesn’t do anything about it. Either keep your complaints to yourself, or go out there and try and make a difference.

// End Rant.

#13 is clearly the biggest travesty. That or the fact that you used a gif of Lindsey Lohan to represent it.

Loved this list! GIFs are the best. I agree with everything on it as well, and I unfortunately don’t have a will either. It’s definitely best to have one, but thankfully a lot of things, like joint bank accounts, retirement accounts, and a home bought together will avoid probate and go directly to the beneficiary. Although if you had money before you got married, or kids, the situation gets a lot stickier. I need to write my will this weekend. Keep up the awesome work!

Well that’s good to know if it’s like that in all states! Technology has def. helped make things easier for sure. At the least I know my wife has access to all of our accounts since we have everything under one roof at USAA :) Makes things even easier!

Joint accounts and accounts with a beneficiary will most definitely go directly to the named person. In fact this is true even if your will says otherwise, which leads to a lot of mistakes by people when making their wills.

I would throw in another part of #12. Having a will is great… making sure it is up to date is greater… My parents have a will. They did it in 1978 (after my sister was born) and never updated it again. So basically I don’t exist to them.

Oh jeez, haha… so your sister’s gonna get EVERYTHING! ;)

We can all go home now, you have won the internet for today with this post. Absolutely loved this, you had me cracking up! I wish I could pick a favorite thing people do/gif to go with it, but they’re all awesome and spot on. Thanks for the laughs, J!

#13 is definitely the most important. It’s the lifeline of all things finance!

Having a simple will is pretty easy. All you have to do is google “holigraphic will requirements [your state]” and you can write it on a piece of paper. Obviously when you have more complex estate issues, you need to work with someone who knows how to deal with that, but for most younger people, it would just be a waste of money.

I believe you. It also makes it super easy when you’ve BOUGHT SOFTWARE AND IT’S SITTING NEXT TO YOUR DESK! Haha… I literally picked up Quicken’s WillMaker 2013 a good 8 months ago and have yet to plop it into my disc drive… it’s apparently one of the best, and easiest ways to make one!

Looks to be 80% off on Amazon today too, jeez….

lol nice! yeah the older versions are always super cheap and they’re just as good as the newer ones (as long as there aren’t any big law changes)

How much fun did you have finding those GIFs?

The eye roll on no emergency fund is by far my favorite as I have certainly caught myself doing that before!

Great mix of gifs J$! You can never go wrong with Ron Swanson or the old muppets. Though, #13 is obviously the biggest problem!

I never realized it either until putting together last month’s Black Friday post!

It actually takes *longer* to do than writing posts (takes forever to search and find good ones to match your storyline), but it’s def. a fun process :) Give it a shot!

Oh Colbert, your screams are always humorous. Unfortunately, my wallet will be taking a bit of a hit on this spooky day. I don’t want puppies running around my apartment later in life though so the little ones had to be fixed. Your welcome Bob Barker.

I must say. . .I’ve been pretty well behaved this year.
I came up with a set amount to spend and I’ve been sticking to it. Your blog must be rubbing off on me. All those panicky faces would scare anyone into behaving. I just have a few ppl who are a little hard to shop for but other than that, I’m done. You?
P.S. Gifs are a gift. : )
