I actually just wrote about this. I used to just accept that I would be in debt until I died. Took a shitload of effort to step off that treadmill but once you do – the freedom is addictive!
It’s hard to see others still swept up in it – financing cars they can’t afford etc, and not say anything.

Emma! I totally agree with the notion of accepting debt as a part of life! It’s been rooted in a lot of society and in my own home growing up. As soon as it was close to getting out of debt, some fancy thing would show up and any debt payment plan would fall off. I am on a debt-free journey right now :) Congrats on taking a big step!

Is the “How to Achieve a DIY Mohawk” pamphlet also included? Or should I order separately? Frugal Hound wants to know.

Have you seen this youtube video? It’s one of my favorites. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0HX4a5P8eE

And it’s just like what you’re pawning today! The funniest thing to me is that everyone acts like it’s a ritual that everyone has to go through. Such a load of B.S.

It’s all about your mindset and attitude. If you think that you will be in debt forever, odds are you will be because you will give up and quit every time. Why try paying it off when you’ll never get out?

Once you change your mindset and believe that it is possible to get out of debt, things start changing and you take action and stay the course. I’m not suggesting that all you have to do is think positively and have a can-do attitude, but having this as part of the equation is essential.

Exactly on point. Can’t just wish for things to happen a la The Secret, but it definitely goes hand in hand with action taking. Together it’s a force to be reckoned with!

I have set up a payment for today to pay off my last non-mortgage debt! We’ve been working on it for about five years and have gone through three job changes and three moves which didn’t help, but the day is finally here!

That’s a great value for the money J. I will advise all indebted people to take advantage today as freedom waits for no man / woman. Plus you wouldn’t want your beer to get warm unless your visiting parts of Europe. (That’s how they like it)
