A Reminder About Money

Something to consider while you’re in the thick of things :)

  • Money can buy a House ………. but not a Home
  • Money can buy a Bed ………. but not Sleep
  • Money can buy a Clock ………. but not Time
  • Money can buy you a Book ………. but not Knowledge
  • Money can buy you Medicine ………. but not Health
  • Money can buy you Sex ………. but not Love

We’re all about that $$$ here, but let’s not forget the point of it all!

Just a means to an end, baby…

The important things in life are truly more valuable than anything money can buy. I wrote a similar post today as well :)

    Happy weekend!

Making money work for your and helping you enjoy life, this should be the goal, not just to amass some numbers into an account. I know many people who postpone anything fun until they retire. They are working themselves sick and hope to be in great health at 60 to enjoy what’s left of their lives. And many don’t get there (working too much doesn’t help your health) or are too ill when old, so they just stay at home and think about what they missed all these years.

I’m not saying one should be recklessly spending either, but we should make sure our money does allow us to also LIVE and not just work and save.

Pretty envious at you right now, btw :D

Such an important reminder. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed hearing all the stories of side hustles and raises and everything. It’s easy to forget that I already have more than enough.

Money can buy you gifts………. but not friends.

Money can buy time, IMHO. Isn’t that what FIRE is all about?

Back when I was in high school my career dream was start and run a home building company. I didn’t have the name but I had the slogan picked out: “We’ll build the house so you can make the home.”

You should get together with the “Sallie Mae Back” rapper and create a few personal finance and money raps. That may give you a huge head start on your 100 things list. And let you rock the ‘hawk even more.

I like these deep thoughts for this Friday! While money isn’t everything it certain does make life easier when you have it! My favorite is “Money isn’t everything but it is right up there with oxygen!”

Yes, money is a tool to achieve the things you want in life – money shouldn’t be the end goal.

    Preach

And in honor of House of Cards returning, I offer this Frank Underwood classic:

“He chose money over power – in this town, a mistake nearly everyone makes. Money is the McMansion in Sarasota that starts falling apart after 10 years. Power is the old stone building that stands for centuries. I cannot respect someone who does not see the difference.”

Ermahgerd I love this! I’ve forgotten so many of Frank’s lines that I think I might have to watch the first season over again and write them all down.

Yup, in the end I guess we all have to remember that money can make your life easier on the whole, but it can’t make your life whole.

And another: Money can buy decongestants and painkillers but it can’t make them WORK.

I used to scoff at the idea that money couldn’t buy me happiness because it seemed that all my problems revolved around not having money. I knew it wasn’t the ONLY thing but boy would it make life easier! Turns out it’s true, having more money now than I did ten years ago is HUGE. But it just eases the way, it’s not the reason we’re happy and have good lives today.

    Happy Friday, bud!

By George, J$, I think you’ve got it–money rules, but never be ruled by money;) Along with that Peacebucks winking George goes the corporate credo,of “Profitability through Social Responsibility.” One day, when Wall Street gets hip to that dynamic, we’ll be on our way to Utopia. Meanwhile, thanks for the valuable reminder(s). . . . Peace, health and prosperity!:)

Money cannot buy everything but it sure helps for those things that it can buy. As long as I have the money, I’m rarely worried about a vendor refusing to sell me something. In addition most material things will have a given price so I know if I can afford it or not.

I believe that money does buy time…if I have money, I can buy the time others to do things for me. Sure, money is a tool, but having money gives one more options. Yeah, it buys medicine, but it also can buy the time of the best medical minds who know the “right” medicine to prescribe.

It’s all in how you use the tool, not about the tool.

True in so many ways… but we all want money to buy stuff. Money, life and happiness are all combined in a way.
