Dude! Who Wants a Dell All-In-One Printer?

Hello hello! Back in action with Day #2 of our super sexy holiday giveaway week! Up for grabs this round is a bad ass Dell 2155cdn all-in-one printer/scanner/faxer/metal of awesomeness.  A $649.99 value sure to spruce up any of your home offices in no time!  (I should know – I’m staring at my very own they sent me as I type this ;)  It def. makes your life easier!!)

More About Dell Business Printers

Dell offers professional, high-quality printing solutions that help businesses run more efficiently. Their printers are equipped with improved features to increase productivity while lowering costs by requiring less maintenance and in some cases, decreased power, paper and toner consumption.

J’s Thoughts on The Dell 2155cdn All-In-One Printer

First, this thing is awesome.  Especially if you always have to do a lot of scanning and/or emailing of the scans all over the world – something I’m constantly doing as I run the home office of Budgets Are Sexy Enterprises ;)  (You need a contract for everything these days!). My favorite tool on this bad boy is the “tray scanner” where it’ll take a handful of pages and scan them all at the SAME TIME and then pop you out a nice compact PDF of the entire package – rather than scanning one at a time (bleh).  It also has the function to then auto-EMAIL it to yourself, but sadly my tech skills have not been able to figure it out quite as yet. And that’s after spending 30 mins on it so far (a minor knock on this Dell printer, but then again I’ve never had luck installing any of my printers from try #1).

dell 2155cdn all-in-one printerThe second thing I love about this guy is that it’s super EASY and FAST to photocopy things, as well as to poke around and figure things out yourself on the main menu dashboard rather than having to read the directions (cuz really, who likes to do that?).  The 2155cdn also comes with a FAX component as well, but it’s been a few years since I was last asked to fax something so I haven’t found a need for that yet in the 21st century :)  But maybe you do?

Other pros and cons before we get to the specs:  Really big and really heavy (both a pro and a con?), nice and black – looks super sexy, has multiple options to scan, and is super easy to install if you don’t need the wifi right away (mine’s currently just plugged into the computer itself).  OH!  One other annoyance – it doesn’t come with the cord you need to plug the printer into the computer, so I had to go find one in my box of cords and use that one instead.  But again, I think all printers never come with one?  The printer cartridges look kinda expensive too, but I’ve never had to compare “business” printers with “personal” printers before so it could be aligned just fine, I dunno… Overall though, a nice piece of machinery that will make anyone happy!  Especially if you win it for free! :)

Dell’s Summary of The Dell 2155cdn All-In-One Printer

Do more for your business with the Dell 2155cdn Multifunction Color Laser printer, which can serve as your scanner, copier, fax machine and printer. Your documents print fast and look sharp with 600×600 dpi and up to 24ppm letter printing.

  • Enjoy faster printing up to 24 pages per minute (letter) for color and black-and-white documents (actual print speed will vary with use)
  • Built in automatic duplexer allows for doubled sided printing
  • Delivers the professional color printouts you need with 600×600 dpi print resolution
  • Print tons of pages with high yield 2,500 page color toner cartridges and up to 40,000 maximum monthly duty cycle

HOW TO ENTER FOR YOUR CHANCE TO WIN!

And now the fun part!  All you have to do to enter to win one of these bad boys (a $649.99 value!) A is to answer one simple question below – something that shouldn’t be hard at all if you’ve ever worked at a business during any part of your lives (or *touched* a printer for that matter) ;)  Read it and then tell us your stories!

What do you LOVE or HATE the most about printers?

Conjure up all those Office Space scenes with your printer, and then tell us what you think! The goods, the bads, and the just plain uglies.  Maybe you’ll touch on something the good people of Dell have never heard before? And they’ll include the fix in a future product? Ya never know. So say it loud, and say it proud my friends!

This giveaway will go on until Saturday at midnight, and we’ll announce the winner – along with the others from the week – on Sunday, December 18th.  You must reside in the U.S. or Canada to win today’s prize, though, and all official terms can be found here. GOOD LUCK!  One of y’all will be printer buddies with me soon enough :)

I absolutely hate my printer at work. It’s a Panasonic P.O.S. We have a tech guy working on it at least twice a week because of all of the issues (jams, worn rollers, misc parts falling off, ect.) Stupid thing always puts random lines on a page and the dumb ink seems to always be empty or its over heating…ugh. Well back to work

Years ago I had an HP office printer that had monster cartridges so I was buying ink every once in a while. Last year I upgraded to a wireless HP that I guess most people would have for their home computer and i am buying ink cartridges like every week. So done with buying ink!

In a old job our printer changing the printer cartridges was a nightmare because it was a printer, copier, fax machine &I it never failed that the toner would always leak out and get all over my hands and sometimes my clothes. I always ended up being the one who had to change it & be the one who got dirty. And the other employees would be laughing until I had to show them how to do it & they got dirty too.

love the utility of doing printing, copying, scanning and faxing , all in one place. the feed scanner with autoemail feature seems wonderful and im sure it saves a ton of time. i wish i had one at home for my homeoffice. the bad is obviously the cost of the device, the cost of maintaining it, with the ink cartridges etc. i can only make a case for good vs bad, if i had one of these bad boys. hope i win one ….

Since graduating from college, I got rid of my dinky college printer and have turned to my cubicle-job printer. Occassionally, when I need stuff printed.. I would run to kinkos for something like a coupon print out. You know? But .. I think it’s time I make the switch back to having a printer. I hate that no one makes a feature-rich printer at an affordable price. I’d love it if a company could make a color laser with ethernet and wireless ports, and a 8.5×11 paper tray and an additional fold out tray that can take just about any paper from 4×6, envelopes, up to 11×17, all for less than $200, you can buy toner refills on ebay, and its easy to refill the toner on it. Sadly, anything that can take 11×17 paper gets expensive quickly.

The thing I hate most about printers? The fact that you seem to need a degree in computer science to set up advanced features.

I hate fixing them. We had an old printer at my old work and I was in charge of keeping it going. Not to brag, but I was one of the highest paid in the company and I had to spend hours fixing a printer? Whatever. We finally got a new, huge, printer, copier, scanner and it was fabulous. The scanner was amazing and fast!

Well, I’d have to say what I hate the most about printers is that they cost too much for me to go all Office Space on my own. If I had a new printer, I would totally blast some late 80’s/early 90’s rap beats, don a pair of steel toes and pick up a baseball bat to let my old printer know how I really feel. I also hate having to move my laptop to where the printer is to plug it in every time I need to print. Don’t have a desk anymore, so the printer is kind of in a corner hiding.

What I like about printers is the time they save when they are working. Mine is kinda slow, but it still beats the heck out of writing by hand over and over to make a copy of something.

The cost of ink and the frequent need to replace it is my biggest complaint about my printer. It got to the point where I just started ordering replacement ink on Amazon, which costs about a tenth of the price as the manufacturer’s ink. The quality may or may not be as good, but I only use my printer for personal items, not for picture or archive quality prints, so it’s not a huge deal for me. As for the possibility of the printer or printer heads being ruined by replacement ink — I haven’t had any issues, and in many cases, ink jet printers are inexpensive enough that you can go out and buy a replacement with the money you save on the ink ($50-$100 for a decent ink jet printer).

I don’t have much experience with laser jet printers – but I have been looking at them as a long term replacement option for the ink jet I use at the moment. So it would be nice to win. ;)

I love how easy they can make things, but I hate how I seem to jam them up or forget to buy ink just when it is most important :)

I hate when you print out photos, and your printer never bothered to mention that it was out of ink, and the pictures all come out kinda greenish grey

Hate that my current printer constantly jams, but love the convenience of a multi-function and not having to xerox things at work!

I hate having to buy inks so often for my printers since its so expensive. Furthermore, my printer will not print once it detects a particular color is too low. It almost forces me to buy color ink to even print B&W.

The think i dislike about printers are having to replace the cartidges. My printer is getting old and hard to find them locally.

I hate that ink replacement costs almost as half as the printer.

I hate buying ink cartridges for my printer. They don’t last nearly long enough and they cost too much.

I love wireless printers that I can stash out-of-sight without having to run CAT5 all over the place!

I hate when printers are supposed to be compatible with a new operating system if you only download the drivers. Yeah right lol. And the constant buying of ink ranks pretty high on my printer dislike list too lol.

I hate that my printer only works half the time. It’s always either out of paper, out of ink, has a jam or just isn’t in the mood to play that day!

I love that everything can be printed at your fingertips! The convenience factor for sure… Hate? I would say the high cost of printer ink!
