The Wealthy Barber by David Chilton — “In [one] of the biggest-selling financial-planning books ever, David Chilton simplifies the complex puzzles of personal finance and helps you achieve financial independence. With the help of his fictional barber, Roy, and a large dose of humor, Chilton shows you how to take control of your financial future–slowly, steadily, and with sure success. Chilton’s plan (detailed in an entertaining story) is no get-rich-quick scheme, but it does make financial independence possible on nothing more than an average salary.”

The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom by Suze Orman — “In nine simple steps, you’ll learn all you need to know to be responsible with and respectful of the money you have and the money you don’t have. Embrace Suze’s groundbreaking philosophy—that you are worth more than your money—and understand the true meaning of wealth so you can live a life without regrets.”

The Automatic Millionaire, by David Bach — “The Automatic Millionaire starts with the powerful story of an average American couple whose joint income never exceeds $55,000 a year, yet who somehow manage to own two homes debt-free, put two kids through college, and retire at 55 with more than $1 million in savings. Through their story you’ll learn the surprising fact that you cannot get rich with a budget! You have to have a plan to pay yourself first that is totally automatic, a plan that will automatically secure your future and pay for your present.”

Book Bundle #3: Coin Collecting Starter Package!

coin collecting starter books

Last but not least – the perfect books for anyone interested in starting a coin collecting hobby!! My personal favorite! The first and third books are great for wrapping your head around it all and getting some good background on the hobby, but that middle book – The “Red Book” – is the go-to one that you’ll use a majority of your collecting days. Along with this one that I didn’t have a spare copy of unfortunately – “Grading Coins By Photographs ” – which you can pick up if you find you’re addicted ;) It’s a really fun hobby, and great for getting kids involved with too! You learn so much about history!

Berman and Ron Guth — “This hands-on guide escorts you through the world’s oldest hobby, helping you decide which type of coins you want to collect, keep your collection in mint condition, buy and sell coins on the Internet, find interesting coin shows to attend, and assemble and diversify a great collection… You’ll learn what coins can teach you about history and geography, develop organizational and observational skills, and learn to use analytical tools, all without event thinking about it. And you’ll learn the basics about ancient coins, U.S. coins, world coins, and the wild-and-wooly stuff that really gets your numismatic juices flowing.”

2018 Official Red Book of United States Coins by R. S. Yeoman and Kenneth Bressett — “The Official Red Book: A Guide Book of United States Coins is 72 years young and going strong. Collectors around the country love the book’s grade-by-grade values, auction records, historical background, detailed specifications, high-resolution photographs, and accurate mintage data. Well, here is my second try at winning these books. Thank you for giving them away! I would without question want the adulting package the reason being two fold. One, I certainly benefit from reminders when I am slipping up and two, I travel to various households (as part of my job) where I find budding teens, full of potential and no direction. In these places I could certainly leave a book or two. Thank you!

And now I want to learn how to make Bubble Tea at home too! Thanks Sexy Budget Community! PS: Whomever wins the YNAB book: I promise it will change your financial life!

My husband died broke and with no insurance. It has taken me years of working 2 jobs 7 days a week to clear up my credit and try to prepare for retirement some day. Also, in general, I’d love to learn some of the basics towards financial freedom, etc. Additionally, Im 100% intrigued by the couple who only made $55,000/year and accomplished all of those big goals! Final reason, once Im done with the books, I want to spread the financial love to others struggling! *crosses fingers and kisses lucky collector penny*

I have been a long time follower of your blog and have really enjoyed your unique approach to finances. It certainly makes finances easier and more fun for a 20-something. Ironically, my husband and I only recently started following Dave Ramsey, but are now listening to his podcast everyday. We are working on knocking out through our mortgage early and I think the books in the the PF classics bundle would help provide the inspiration we need to maintain the pace we have set for the mortgage.

    Bundle #2
I am in my 30s and have become so passionate about financial literacy amongst women, particularly young women, I started a bi-weekly working lunch meeting at work where I get 20 women to talk about various aspects of finance planning and strategic spending. I would love to share the bundle with my colleagues since it best represents where we all are in life, some single, engaged and married. We could then share the books at work to maximize learnings!!!

No bundles for me I already got very lucky. But a best point about physical books is it’s easier to gift and share. People stumbled upon it cleaning their house one day and *boom* a seed is sewn, they start reading it and following the gospel.

You can’t hurry self discovery but you can artificially encouraged it with physical books and proximity.

These are not only books whose subject matter is very applicable to my journey toward FIRE; but all of the authors I have tremendous respect for. I’m not too interested in coin collection (sorry, J) I need to get me 44 yo butt in gear and get this money thing handled. I’m interested in Bundle #1, as I already have two of the second bundle. Bundle #3 would be a second choice, as the husband and daughter are amateur collectors. :) And I already have folks in mind who to pass them on to. One being my baby sister, who starts pharmacy school in August. Those loans make ME anxious.

I am also a YNAB fan so the adulting bundle is right up my alley (I’m 29). I would like the adulting package because both of my sons are about halfway through college and are in serious relationships (my youngest is engaged). They don’t really listen to my money advice, but hopefully getting it from a third party would be more impactful. My oldest son’s boyfriend has expressed interest in learning to manage his money better, so maybe there’s hope there, too.

    PF Bundle #1!

I think I’m finally starting to make ground on getting my wife interested in FIRE!! And I think these books would help me seal the deal. I realized that instead of focusing on the stuff I nerd out about most (tracking spending, budgeting, net worth), switching over to talking about early retirement and a life free of our busy and stressful downtown desk jobs is what’s getting her excited ha.

I think being 2 months into her maternity leave isn’t hurting either :p (she’s getting a taste of retired life!)

I would love # 3! Years ago I made a small start at coin collecting but did not know what I was doing. Now semi-retired and would like to try again. This would be perfect!

I would like the Adulting bundle to share with my little brother, who has gotten in the habit of “doing the thing” before doing the math. He will soon be doing the dad thing and just came to the realization that kids can be expensive, and he could use all the coaching he can get.

So I would really appreciate the Book Bundle #3: Coin Collecting Starter Package to see exactly how much I’ve overpaid :-)
    Thanks.

Package 2, Adulting! I’m 27 and new to the financial freedom world. A lot of learning has occurred recently and it makes me excited that I am taking steps towards a better future. I am also teaching my friends and family along the way. I haven’t heard of any of these books in this list so I think this package would suit me very well!

Not going to lie, was interested in Bundle #3 because it would probably be easier to win, and it’s exciting to win things, right? But try as I might, yeah, not interested in coin collecting whatsoever. Wouldn’t want to take it away from the real nerds. =D

I’d be interested in Bundle #1 because I keep hearing about Dave Ramsay and I’ve never read his book. Usually when I hear a book has a lot of detractors because of the message (and not, say the writing) and then I read the book, I find that the worst critics have not read the book. They are interpreting articles they’ve read written by other people who haven’t read the book. So I wanted to give him a fair shake.

Here’s to another chance! I would love the ADULTING book set!
I graduate from law school next year with 180k of student loans. I got a full ride but undergrad really killed me.
Neither of my parents had college or student loans, so the books would really educate me and help me stay motivated to beat financial burdens new to my family. Plus if you ever need a lawyer ;)

Mainly because I’m not young. It would be wishful thinking to be in my (choose a number below 50). Can’t go wrong with a classic anything. Classic cars, classic rock…………

I would love to win package #2. I love all the books in the package but the one that caught my attention was The Personal Finance in Your 20’s & 30’s. Although, I’ve passed that age group, I would love to read what I’ve missed in my 20’s & 30’s. This is one collection of books that I would love to pass on to the younger generation because some of them are Young, Fabulous, Broke and need a Financial Life on A Budget.

New subbie! I just wanted to say that I’ve enjoyed the share of great reading material here. I’ve added several books to my Amazon cart that are applicable to my situation – a late bloomer in taking care of my own finances, after years of letting my husband handle everything. He passed two years ago and it was an eye opener. I am on a mission to help others like me wake up and take care of their money. Thank you for educating people like myself.

100%, I’ll take group #1! I’ve read 3 out of 4 of those books from the library, but would love to have them in my permanent collection. Every time I read Dave Ramsey, it kicks my butt into gear! Can’t get too tired of hearing him “yell” at me through his books. Also, The Wealthy Barber is such a simple message, but is such an important one for everyone to hear. Also, a creative way to narrate. A great one to pass down to the kiddos!

I’d really love the Coin Collecting books! My gramma gave me coins for many years, and I now have some time to go through them…but I don’t know where to start! These would give me some confidence as I look through the many, many coins she gifted me (I’ve had them for 40 years.) BTW, Gramma is still going strong at 98 years old! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

    Hey!
Although the first bundle looks great and informative, I know that for a college student like me learning how to budget and get better financial freedom would be better. Turning 20 next year It would definitely be a better start to my young adult career knowing more about budgeting and my finances so that hopefully i manage my early-life debt better and can get rid of it ASAP!
All in all, as an upcoming young adult, a bundle for young adulting seems pretty fitting to get me on the right track!

I’d love bundle #1. I follow DR and SO but haven’t ever splurged on buying their books. Plus I’d love to pass on the learning after I’m done with them; maybe even leaving a dollar bill or two in the books for the next lucky owner. As a single mom I really want to read the other two books as well seeing that it’s harder to build wealth on a single income. I’m always looking for new ways to do something better

LOL – I’d be interested in Bundle #2 – The Adulting Package – I’m not sure I’ve ever learned exactly how to adult!!! Even better, that low-budget marriage book likes like something I may need when I do it again. I did it once and it lasted almost 18 years and I have no problem with the thought of doing it again, PLUS, doing it low-budget is exactly my style (though some women don’t like low-budget). The other books in that bundle will be read, and then given to my 21 year old daughter!!!

Fun!! First thing I’d do is see if there’s a local coin club that meets once a month – by far the best way to surround yourself in the hobby and make new friends at the same time! :)

The coin books would be great! My Great grandmother left me a whole bunch of coins and stamps 20 years ago when she passed.
Have never got through them all, and have very little knowledge about them.

I would chose #1 cause it seems the most relevant for me, but I have to say that the Suze Orman Young Fabulous and Broke book really changed my life when I read it about 14 years ago. It put me on the road to being financially responsible! Great book.

Even though I am young , fabulous and somewhat broke (i would love that book) I think I would benefit most from bundle number one. -the classics. To do all of that debt free and on only $25,000 each for a yearly salary? I need that kind of advice. Also there is a suze orman book thrown in for good measure so how can you go wrong?

Bundle # 2 please. My 19 year old grandson, his girlfriend, and their (surprise!) 7 month old daughter are starting out with help from family. He has already enrolled at the local university (withdrawing from Embrey-Riddle with a significant scholarship was his choice), is working fulltime and learning to be a Dad! He and his girlfriend were thrown into “adulting” before either anticipated, but are making good decisions, The finance for young folks books would help them see things from a perspective other than “geezer” grandparents, although they have been asking appropriate money questions and seem to be taking solicited (!) advice to heart. Thanks for your consideration…Grandma/GG

Bundle 3!!! I have been saving change for AGES and would love to be able to go through my mountains with the education to know if I should just put the coin in the rolls and deposit it at the bank, or keep saving it because it’s worth more than face value.
I have two kids who will sort with me and get a good education at knowing the value of your assets.

You talk money and collect it too? I started my coin collection long ago and glued them to poster board to display as art on my wall. I have grown from a single 36″ x 28″ sized frame to multiple frames and continue to collect. I even spent a coupe paychecks to own a piece of the Saddle Ridge Hoard, that is safely tucked away and not glued to anything. It might be my retirement plan.

Thanks for the education into the money spectrum. I can’t wait to dig through cointhrill.com

We would want Book Bundle #2: the Adulting package.

My fiancé and I are in our early thirties, and we already own two of Book Bundle #1. :-) We are engaged and looking to be married this year, and we really like the title “Get a Financial Life”. It just sounds sassy and fun to read. We haven’t read a Suze Orman book yet, though we’ve been looking at her “The Money Class” book. We read financial books together while we’re driving. That’s how we did “Total Money Makeover” and “Automatic Millionaire”. The descriptions on Amazon make it sound like these would be great for reading while driving.

Edit: He says I need to clarify: he drives, and I read out loud — he doesn’t read and drive at the same time, though now he thinks he has a good idea of how I get through so many books each year. LOL
