Such a great video to start off Christmas! We all get carried away during the holiday season with the ideas of the perfect gifts to give our families but really, the best gift we can give the people we are about is ourselves. Thank you for a great reminder this morning J$!

Right?? I don’t think I’ve ever watched a commercial that many times in a row before – I just love this so much.
Way to remember what’s important this season! The hands-down most popular gift we got this year was a family gift of a board game, which we’ve played over a dozen a times in the past few days. I love giving gifts that are more about an experience than ‘stuff.’

Interesting video. It makes me wonder why we keep Santa (or the Three Kings) around. Santa has seemingly unlimited resources and can bring anything you want! It is an unreasonable expectation for parents to live up to. I wonder how different Christmas would be if Santa, elves, and the Three Kings were left out of it
I don’t think we’re going to find out anytime soon, haha… (Though I do think it’s a fun experience for kids having Stanta et al around.. gives them magical stuff to get excited about. Mainly up to us parents to control the situation around all that gift giving, ugh)

My kids are grown, and they are great young adults, self sufficient and fully employed, but not because they had talented parents. They just had a lot of our time, they felt safe and loved, received tons of praise and had reasonable limits they could not violate without significant consequences.
I teared up too, but because I reflected back on those years, and felt good about them. This video is a message to young parents, you only get to do this once. Nothing else in your life is this important, spend time with your kids!
