Hello dearest money lovers, what’s shakin’? Whatcha been up to while I’ve been away? Miss me yet? Earn your first million yet? Can I ask you like 3,800 more questions? :)
As you probably know by now, I’m out on the beaches of beautiful South Carolina, splashing water around and making sure my little sand crabs are enjoying their family vacation. I forget how different it is with kids than with adults – all they want to do is play! Makes us all look lazy! Haha…
Anywho, I have not found any rolexes yet but haven’t given up on my metal detecting skills just yet. I have found bags full of bottle caps, so I’m hoping to at least get 7 cents for recycling them #NOT. How is it that some people accidentally stumble across millions of dollars of gold, yet when you work your ass off sending oodles of hours you don’t find jack? It’s not fair, I say… not fair at all.
But this post isn’t about metal detecting today, no (although I know you wish it were). It’s about how much you love me and my projects :)
You see, every year the blogging community gets together and votes for their favorite personal finance blogs to honor their hard work and love for the game. These are called the Plutus Awards (after the Greek God of Wealth), and each winner of the categories gets a big fancy gold trophy which in fact is not made of gold, but plastic, because, you know, we’re frugal like that.
Budgets Are Sexy was honored back in 2012 with “Blog of The Year” (y’all are awesome!), and today I ask you to vote for my other project, Rockstar Finance if you happen to be a fan of it. I spend hours every day reading and selecting my fave articles on money from around the web, and then I feature my top 3 on the site to help spread the love of both money, and blogging in general. So I’d be BEYOND honored if my new project won for “Best Collaborative Project for Personal Finance!”
