What happens when you think about money too much…

  • You get a call from a friend saying they owe “bad people” $8,500
  • And if they don’t get it by the end of the day, “bad stuff” will happen to them
  • So they ask if they can borrow the money from you because they’re broke
  • Only you don’t trust you’ll get it back, so you offer a different alternative instead
  • Which is that you’ll sell your Cadillac and give them all proceeds to help out
  • So you put it up for sale on Craigslist and get an offer for $6 Million dollars (!!!)
  • Which you gladly take, and are paid with six “$1 Million Dollar” coins
  • Made of pure gold and awfully awfully heavy
  • You then realize it’s not yours as you promised your friend all proceeds from the car sale :(
  • So you walk to their bank and deposit all 6 million dollar coins w/ the teller who gladly accepts them
  • Your friend doesn’t get beaten up, and is now a multi-millionaire!

You then wake up :) And realize you’re spending WAY too much time obsessing about money and old coins, haha… So you call it a day and take a break.

FYI: I blame this dream on Jane Savers who told me I wouldn’t be able to sell my Caddy for $1,500 last week in our net worth update. Eat it, Jane!

J – I suggest you step away from the computer and go for a walk. While you do you are no allowed to pick up any pennies you may find. :)

Too late! Already found one on this morning’s walk with the baby :) Well, he found it technically but I picked it up after all his hootin’ and hollering.

So… if each coin is $1M worth of gold and gold costs about $1300/tr-oz… then each coin would weight about 769 tr-oz. 1 troy ounce is about 0.06857 lbs so each coin would weight about 52lbs. How big were these coin again?

They were the size, and thickness, of walnuts. So I guess their density had to be off the charts! :)

Glad you decided to take a break today J. Hopefully your friend is a good friend and shares the wealth when you get those coins in real life. Oh, and don’t sell the Caddy :)

Dreams are so weird. At least in your dream world your friend came out ok! Was it a friend you know from your real life? Cuz if it is you should tell them what an awesome dream friend you are…

yeah, I have $hitty dreams because I can never do anything “bad” in them since I’m naturally not like that in the real world :( I just want to have fun and do whatever the hell I want in them though! Haha… esp since I don’t in the real world! (the bad stuff, that is, I still have tons of fun :))

That’s not a bad dream all things considered. :-) My latest one was that my husband and I were starving and decided to have a frozen pizza. But my husband stuck the whole box into the oven, and by the time I figured out the problem, the box was toasty and the pizza was mushy, still inside it’s plastic. I have no idea what that dream means…

It means you have to keep an eye out on your husband – he’s a trouble maker! :) (Or he likes playing pranks on you – I’ll let you choose)

So what you’re saying is you have a program to go from broke to $6 million in three easy steps. Sounds like it might be time for a speaking tour!

Your mistake was saying ALL proceeds would go to helping your friend. If you only promised the $8,500, then you’d be the multi-millionaire. Alas it was only a dream, or nightmare depending on how you look at it! :)

Well at least you didn’t dream about showing up at school naked or something like that.

I dreamed about having beers with financial peeps at the next Blogger’s conference. I’m assuming it’s a prophecy of sorts.

Never mind the dream, I’m stuck on your reality in that you’ve trained your baby to look for pennies. I hope you’ve also covered, nickels, dimes and quarters in your baby-savers classes.

Your dreams are really creepy. Your friend showed up really okay in your dreamland in some ways. That’s the point then.

Pretty funny dream to have! Good thing nothing bad happened associated with money. Though your dream friend didn’t really learn their lesson did they? They racked up debt, called you, and you gave them $6 million dollars. Dreams!
