The Credit Card Montage!

by J. Money -

Think about the last time you signed up for a credit card. I know it’s crazy to say, but did the LOOKS of it ever factor in at all? (Be honest!) If you’re anything like me, it at least crossed your mind ;) We still did our research of course, and made sure we were getting exactly what we wanted (or at least close to it), but I’d be lying if I said that looks didn’t matter. (Or you can check out my real page of all the best credit cards like a normal person, haha…)

So instead of writing down all the perks and bullet points of greatness for that next credit card, I thought I’d help you start your search in the opposite of directions – with the “pretty” factor ;) You’ll still have to do the dirty work and sort through all the pros and cons of the cards once you click and see what’s underneath them all (I’ve tried to only put the more popular & good cards here), but maybe it’ll make the process of finding your next card more FUN?

So poke around and see what you find! Maybe you’ll get lucky and come across some gems :) Whatever you end up doing though, just make sure to PAY THEM OFF IN FULL every month, okay? It’s the one way you can never fail in this game. Use these cards to YOUR advantage, not theirs. GOOD LUCK!

Did any one card stand out specifically? Were any of the cards you already owned on there? Obviously there’s a lot more to choosing credit cards based on how they look, but hopefully this was an interesting way to start the process of researching for you :) Let us know what you thought about this!

At the end of the day, you’ve gotta go with the card that makes the most FINANCIAL cents!

PS: Here’s my “real” list of the best credit cards & offers by the way, if it helps ;) –> Best credit card offers
PPS: Each card up there is linked to my referral code, which means if you end up signing up to any of them, you’re also supporting the site :) Thx!

I love this. (it said my comment of “best” was too short so I’m adding this)

I think I have 4 or 5 of those cards up there! I especially love the Chase Sapphire Preferred & the Amex SPG. GREAT sign-on bonuses and on-going rewards. :)

Haha.. yeah! I thought of you when I was adding that one, Well Heeled ;) I’m thinking of picking it up too!

@Bridget — you better play nice w/ my blog ;)

Although I’m not over-fond of Capital One as a whole, I do love that you can use a CUSTOM picture for your credit card, and switch the picture out about every month or so if you want. I’m thinking about getting one with one of my kids’ artwork on it :)

What, no USAA credit card? :-P

HAH! You’re right. Only problem is that not all of them are open to non-military members I don’t believe :( And while I have 2 of their cards, they’re def. not as good as a lot of others out there. I only use them because it’s a) SUPER convenient (I have 15 other accounts there too! Haha…) and b) I love their entire company and customer service. Good catch ;)

I’ve had the Chase Freedom Mastercard for 3 years now, and I just got my account renewed. The new card I got in the mail looks way slick! Instead of the flat blue color that you typically see, it’s now a metallic blue. It’s looks, even, a bit futuristic!

Oh cool!! I love when they tweak it for the good like that :) The last two USAA cards I got actually looked worse :( I’m def. thinking of switching to Chase Freedom though – so good to know they’re sexier!
